Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the transcription of class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on verse 3.30.2. In previous offering we saw how every material thing that we throw away, goes back to earth by the influence of time. Now let us hear more from Maharaj.

"Trees stand for many years. But as soon as the time will come, when it will die down. And as soon as it dies down it cannot stand erect. It will fall down. And as soon as it falls down, again it mixes with the earth. Because you throw the leaves on the earth, the flowers we throw, leaves, immediately mixes with the earth again. This is how the time completely destroys everything. Once we understand this, then the way to find out more things about the time (from the scriptures) is from the index. Here there must be some ‘time’ topic. And you should start from Bhagavad Gita. And take out Bhagavad Gita. Read our own Bhagavad Gita. And references you can take out from Bhagavad Gita. There must be topic, Time topic. (Maharaj asks the devotees to find out the verses related to time from the index and devotees read out verse 13.17 from Gita)

avibhaktam ca bhuteshu / vibhaktam iva ca sthitam
bhuta-bhartr ca taj jneyam / grasishnu prabhavishnu ca

"Although the Supersoul appears to be divided among all beings, He is never divided. He is situated as one. Although He is the maintainer of every living entity, it is to be understood that He devours and develops all."

Grasishnu means devours. That is the main characteristic of time, that time always devours the whole thing, always destroys. So grasishnu word should be remembered. And if you remember that grasishnu, then you remember the meaning also. And prabhavishnu means develops. It develops, it develops and it destroys. This is the quality of the material world. He is referring that. And there are so many, around 8 references, isn't it? When you get time, you have to find out these things. And make a nice essay of a "Time" factor from Bhagavad Gita. Then as soon as you find time, we have all the books here of Srimad Bhagavatam, we have all Caitanya caritamrita here. Just take one topic, you know "Time", and whatever you come across "Time" reference from all the Bhagavatam, from Bhagavad Gita, from Caitanya caritamrita, it will be a nice booklet, giving only the time.

This is how we should study. And it requires the time. It requires the set of Bhagavatam books you know. It requires the set of Caitanya caritamrta. So wherever you may luckily stay, in the temple somewhere, the sets are available. So without wasting time here and there in nonsensical talks it is better that we accept one seva that we have to prepare nice essay of "Time". And if you prepare one topic, you will know everything. Because Krishna is one. Anything related to Krishna is also one. Whether you prepare ‘time’ topic or whether you prepare ‘soul’ topic or whether you will prepare ‘material world’ or whichever topic we prepare, we prepare whole Krishna, and we will have the whole idea. So you should make the goal in your life to at least to prepare this "Time"."

Krishna willing we shall continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much,
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Divyrupa devi dasi.
