Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.
This is in conclusion of the transcription of class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on verse 3.30.2. In previous offering we saw how we should remember the glorious manner in which Srila Prabhupada faced the various challenges in life. He remained focused on Krishna's service and was not disturbed by the challenges, nor did he keep discussing about the challenges with everyone. Instead he spent his time and energy glorifying Krishna and Maharaj said that this is the lesson we need to learn from His Divine Grace.
Now we shall hear more nectar from Maharaj.
"There was one, very pativrata lady you know. And she was very much attached to her husband and she was serving him very sincerely. And husband was loafer. Very painful situation. So even then, she really loved her and served him very sincerely. It is known in Bhagavatam as pativrata. Pativrata means unflinchingly attached to one man. And because he was a loafer, she could have just taken divorce and went away. She didn't go. Pativrata - unflinchingly attached to one man. And because of this pativrata, she has a tremendous capacity. You know as soon as you attach to one Krishna, then you develop so many nice qualities. So much. (With great humility Maharaj says) Otherwise what capacity we have to organise programs ?
So what happened that loafer, one day he saw a beautiful prostitute. So when he saw the beautiful prostitute, he thought that he must enjoy the prostitute. And he was poor you know. So he told his wife that I want to enjoy this prostitute. Wife was so very sincerely serving him. She didn't rebel at his idea. Instead she cooperated with him. What she did, she didn't have any money to give the prostitute. So she went and she became a maid servant of the prostitute. And prostitute was very pleased, because she was a very nice sincere maid servant. In the end she wanted to give her some money in return for her service. The wife said that, "I don't want money, but my husband desires your association." So the prostitute was ready. "That is alright let him come." So loafer went there and when he saw this lady's sincerity, his wife's sincerity he stopped, he didn't want to enjoy. So he was coming back home. While coming back home, he touched Chyavana Rishi on the way. As soon as the loafer touched him, Chyavan rishi was very upset and he said, "you will die before the sunrise." Again that pativrata stri, that woman was in difficulty. What to do? She has to save her husband. So because of pativrata you know, because she was unflinchingly attached to the one man, so she was very powerful. She stopped the sun to rise. This is the result of getting attached to one man.
If we get attached to Krishna, what can we do. That is the point here. So she stopped the sunrise. And it was all everywhere dark, people were in trouble. They went to Brahma and complained sun is not rising. What is happening? So then what happened that she didn't want him to die. So all Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, They were pleased with her, and They came to her and guaranteed that, "your husband will be completely healthy, and he will recover from leprosy and he will be alive, even if he is dead after the sunrise he will be getting his life back." So when this guarantee was there, she allowed the Sun to rise, and then the husband will be alive. So this is how, one unflinching faith in one husband, gives the lady so much power. So what to talk of, we living entities, get unflinchingly attached to Krishna how much power we get? Somehow of the other we are in the situation, we are situated in the temple, please make the best of it and try to maintain your material life as far as you can. And try to have unflinching faith on Krishna. Jai !!! Srila Prabhupad ki jai !!!"
HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj ki jai !!! Our heartfelt thanks to Maharaj for this wonderful class full of practical, sublime instructions.
Thank you very much,
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Divyarupa devi dasi.
