Rareness of Human Birth - Part 9

Rareness of Human Birth - Part 9

Jyesta devi dasi

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the previous offering titled, "Rareness of Human Birth" - which is a transcription of the class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on verse 11.9.29. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj about how we could come out of the material rut. Now we shall hear further.

9. Material platform and Spiritual PlatformThose who are grhastas have the responsibilities many many more times than the devotees who are staying in the temple. These grhastas are staying with their wife and children, they have their own dependents to be delivered, the brahmacaris they are happy because only they have to keep themselves up. There are not many dependents.

But grhastas responsibilities multiply. And you wanted to be a grhasta, you are grhasta, then behave like grhasta. This is the main instruction to be followed. Otherwise we become like Ravana, Hiranyakashipu, Sishupal and many others. And when you become and you lose everything. If you don’t come to this platform, then you are in the material life and material life is known as pa varga. You please remember this. And spiritual platform is known as apa varga.

Now in hindi or in Sanskrit there are vowels you know, they are 5 in a group. First ka. they call this ka class. ka kha ga gha gna. Second one ca class. ca cha ja jha jna. Third on ta class, ta tha da dha na. And then fourth class tha tha da dha na. And pa class. And these all material life is known as 'pa' varga.

'Pa' class and in pa class there are 5 letters. pa fa ba bha ma. And these 5 are the characteristics of our material existence. Very easy to understand, once you get into this knowledge it is very relishing and then you meditate on it and you will try getting out of the material life. So that you don’t fall victim to this 5 qualities. pa—pleasure means parishram, hard parishram as soon as you enter into the material life we have experience, everyday at 8 o clock we have to be in the office or your business or your workplace. You have to be there. There is no choice.  So this parishram as soon as you accept the material life and we are always in the material life and so we have to be in time to our business, we have to attend, and there it is not at all comfortable.

You work for somebody and he will see that whether we are working or not. And he doesn’t allow you to sit silent. If there is any manager who allow you to sit silent then I will be the first one to go. (At that time,) can we read Bhagavatam and all ??? Man, can’t do. Every second he will keep an eye on you. And if you are not producing, no lakshmi, than what you are getting? He will kick you out. This is parishram."

Krishna willing we shall continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much,
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Jyesta devi dasi,
