Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is the conclusion of the topic, "The Transcendental Boatman" wherein we have been meditating on the loving relation between Lord Rama and Guha (the hunter and boatman). We will see further on this topic.

25. Guha accompanying Lord Rama to the spiritual worldLord Rama ruled the kingdom of Ayodhya for 11000 years and He made His sons Lava and Kusha the Kings after Him. He decided to ascend to the spiritual world. This news was sent to everyone and  the monkeys, demons and many other great personalities came to Ayodhya to have the final darshan of Lord Rama. Guha was also one of the persons who came.

vibhishana atha sugrivo jambavan marutatmajah
Neelo nalah sushenascha nishadadhipatir guha

"Vibhishana, Sugriva, Jambavan, Hanuman, Neela, Nala, Sushena and Guha the Lord of fisherman and hunters assembled there."

They all assembled and prayed to Lord Rama as follows with folded hands.

svarlokam gam tu mudyuktam jnaatatvaam raghusattamah
agatah sma vayam tava sareanugamanam prati

nashaktah sma kshanam rama jeevitum tvam vinaa prabho

tasmaat tvayaa vishalaaksha gacchaama tridasahaalayam

"O best of the Raghu dynasty, having come to know that You are going back to the spiritual world, we have come here to follow You. O Rama, our master, we cannot live without You even for a moment. Therefore, O lotus eyed one, with you we shall go to the spiritual abode."

Except for Vibhishana, Hanuman and Jambavan who stayed back, all others followed Lord Rama who entered into the Sarayu river and via the river entered into the spiritual world. They all assumed transcendental forms befitting the Lord’s association in the spiritual sky. They had worn divine flowers and garments and had divine lustre. They surrounded Lord Rama and worshiped Him. We can see that Lord Rama instructed Guha to remember Him always and continue His duties and by doing so at the end, Guha will attain a spiritual form like the Lord. Guha followed it sincerely and was blessed with the spiritual form and entered the Lord’s eternal pastimes. The profound friendship between Guha and Rama illustrates two important things.

1. Irrespective of material qualification, anyone can perform sincere devotional service and attain the Lord’s favor, provided he has a sincere desire to attain the Supreme Lord.

2. The Supreme Lord will condescend to any limit to give His association to the living entities who are desiring to attain Him. It was expressively demonstrated in the Lord’s incarnation as Rama.

Not only the Lord, but His pure devotees like Srila Prabhupada, our beloved Gurudeva and others came down to our level to elevate us and bless us with Lord’s shelter. By the causeless mercy of our beloved Guru Maharaj and the great efforts of his disciples and well-wishers, Their Lordships Sri Sri Sita Rama Lakshman Hanuman have manifested in Rajkot as Ramaa Raama Ramanuja Hanuman to bless everyone with Their infinite compassion and give shelter at Their lotus feet.

I pray at the lotus feet of our beloved Gurudeva, Srila Prabhupada and Their Lordships Ramaa Raama Ramanuja Hanuman so that I will become a bit sincere in devotional service.

Yours in the service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Narahari Krishna Das.
