Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev!
This is in continuation of the previous offering titled, "Krishna Reveals Himself" - wherein we were meditating on how Lord Brahmaji got the darshan of the eternal transcendental form of Supreme Lord after 1000 celestial years of penance. Now we shall see further.
Brahmaji also got the wonderful darshan of Lakshmi devi in Vaikuntha. In Srimad Bhagavatam 2.9.14, Sukadev Goswami says,
shrir yatra rupiny urugaaya-paadayoh
karoti maanam bahudhaa vibhutibhih
prenkham shritaa yaa kusumaakaraanugair
vigiyamaanaa priya-karma gaayati
"The goddess of fortune in her transcendental form is engaged in the loving service of the Lord's lotus feet, and being moved by the black bees, followers of spring, she is not only engaged in variegated pleasure—service to the Lord, along with her constant companions—but is also engaged in singing the glories of the Lord's activities."
The line 'vigiyamaanaa priya-karma gaayati' - is worth meditating. This is a wonderful lesson taught by Mother Lakshmidevi as to how we should engage all our senses to the fullest extent in Lord's service. Our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj also always practised and preached to all about the importance of reciting slokas while cooking, bathing, washing clothes, washing vessels, cleaning the temple, home etc. These services primarily involve the service of our hands, legs. But when we do such services, if we don't engage our mouth and ears in singing and hearing the glories of the Lord, there is every possibility that we end up doing the service in a mechanical manner. Whereas constant hearing of the Lord's glories not only purifies our consciousness and helps us to do the service better, but it also gives us great bliss, solace and we would never feel tired of doing the service.
So Brahmaji by his sincere penance was fortunate to see the Lord, His consort and all other eternal associates of the Lord in Vaikuntha.
Krishna willing we shall meditate further on this topic in the subsequent offering.
Thank you very much,
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Sudarshana devi dasi.
