Pearls from Maharaj's Diary

Dear Prabhujis and Matajis,

Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

Wish you all a very happy Krishna Conscious Diwali and may the Supreme Lord Sri Ramachandra and Sri Damodara bless each one of you abundantly with lots and lots of devotional service and bliss!!

I would like to share some beautiful pearls of realizations that I came across from Maharaj's diaries while going through them today.

1. Wise men preach silence as the best root in messy situations.

2. One who protests his innocence too violently is often assumed guilty

3. Before you take the splinter out of someone else's eye, first take the log out of your eye (Bible).

4. It is proved that more innocence one possesses, there is more probability of his perceiving Godliness.

5. Through the speech and the eyes of an accomplished person, will reveal his true quality and grace.

6. kaama vaatha kapha lobha apaaraa / krodha pitta nitha chaathi jaaraa

"Lust is gout or Rheumatism, Cough is unending like the greed and the phlegmatic diseases are like anger."

According to Ayurveda above three are the main origins or causes for almost all other related diseases. Kaama and Krodha - lust and anger has time limits (only for 3-5 mins). But lobha has no limit. It is limitless.

7. If there is any silent saint to be found in the entire text of Ramayana, the obvious choice will be of Shatrugna. There are here & there stray references of his behavioural conduct but mostly he is silent. He is brave because he has destroyed the greed. No boasting that he has got rid of greed. He is a true follower of Bharat who was sacrifice personified. The one who traverses the path of sacrifice can only destroy greed.

8. According to Bharat, there was no hardship in making his way to Chitrakoot from Ayodhya (only on foot) because he had 2 legs - one was 'ra' and another was 'ma'. His thinking was that by chanting the name of Rama he would be the first to reach and others were left behind.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Kalacakra Krsna das
