Sense Gratification Leads to Destruction - Part 5

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the previous offering titled, "Sense Gratification Leads to Destruction"  which is transcription of one of the nectarean class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 5.13.19 in Sri Sri Radha NeelMadhav dham, Rajkot on 6th August 2008. In the previous offering we heard the below point.

1. Our attraction to sense gratification.
2. Sense Gratification steals our intelligence.
3. The nasty whirlpool of material existence
4. Sense Gratification is not permanent.

Maharaj was explaining how regulated sense gratification was arranged through the process of marriages and how procreation was legalised. Now we shall hear further nectar from Gurudev.

5. Give the taste of Krishna consciousness to children:
Gurudev: Then children were put on a nice platform and they were helped to marry. Again they had their own children. Again the work was Kṛṣṇa conscious. Again those grand children were taken care of. So for three, four generations we are worrying. And then you earn money also for them. We leave so much property. Why this grandfather is after him? Because he knows that he is going away. So he has to hand over the properties to somebody. So better hand it over to the grandson. That is how everybody has to leave. So we want to leave also in good hands. Otherwise it will be (stolen), anyway it will be stolen, whatever we have. So thinking all these things, except Kṛṣṇa consciousness there is no other way to be bit satisfied on this planet. You may call in anything. But it must be Kṛṣṇa conscious way, must be Kṛṣṇa conscious. Otherwise you will never be satisfied. For satisfaction you must come to this. Otherwise bhramatah, what is this bhramañ? That line is beautiful you know. Nineteen, verse number nineteen, bhramañ, bhramañ word was there. In the last line. (bhramañ jano ’dyāpi na veda kaścana - last line of verse 5.13.19)

Devotee: bhramañ jano

Gurudev: bhramañ jano, bhramañ jano ’dyāpi, they are wandering. Even they don't know.

Devotee: even upto death

Gurudev: Even upto death they do not know anything. bhramañ, wandering, wandering about and even then they don't know. Ah! Jada Bharath was quite alright, very strong in body and everything was there. But knowingly he stopped everything. What's wrong in it? (Gurudev laughs) Prabhupada was always telling that we have so many eight million four hundred thousand lives. So if one life we sacrifice so what's the deal? ( Gurudev laughs) what is the big deal? And those who have done it they are happy. Those who are  gone away, they are in hellish condition. There was very nice devotee. If you see him you will not recognise him. All the head is gone. Only tuft  is here somewhere. And then he is serving his invalid son in shorts.

(Referring to another grhasta devotee with young kids Maharaj said) And I happened to go to New Zealand first time. So what happened that I had to give the Bhagavatam class. And after the class I had to catch the flight to go to Fiji or something. So I was in a hurry to go to the airport. So some how or the other we finished the class in Auckland temple and then I hurried to the airport. And to my surprise when we reached there I had forgotten my pouch. So the passport was there and this devotee came running you know. He said, "I want to see Maharaj, I want to just see you". And then in that, for fifteen minutes he requested about his boys that they are put into lower grade or whatever. "So what to do? Then how, how are they going to be Kṛṣṇa conscious?" he said. So I said, "you perform mangala arati daily in the house." So he did it, he followed. The boys did very nicely. Now they have completed the degrees. One son is already married. They are working or something you know. And going to the temple also. This, this is how, otherwise the whole thing would have been spoiled completely. The thing is that the advice should also be in the line of the instructions of Bhagavatam. And now they, because they had the taste of Kṛṣṇa consciousness since their childhood, in the house it was very seriously followed, so then now they may go here and there for a while but they will come back. Now they are married so, so the married life is there. So mother is there, father is there, children are there, nice family is there. Otherwise in foreign countries there is no family. In, all over the family is disintegrated. And Prabhupada has created families again. It is Prabhupada's mercy that devotee may be able to see his grandchild. Otherwise if you deal in just, just this type of enjoyment eat, drink and be merry, then forget about your grandchildren. Or if there are children, we don't know where are they.

Krishna willing we will continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
