Once there was a man going in the forest . Suddenly a tiger started chasing him and he started running to save his life. While running he fell into a blind well in the forest covered with bushes and creepers.
Bhag 8.22.16 tells that Krsna's way of working into a 'devotee's case' is beautiful - When Bali Maharaj was arrested by Lord Vamanadev and deprived of all his possesions his grandfather and great devotee, Prahlada Maharaj said to the Lord
Once there lived a poor Brahmana named Vasudeva. He went to his friend's house to ask him for a loan. His friend said that he had no money to spare and told Vasudeva that the King of the city, gave two gold coins to the first Brahmana he meets in the morning.
Gurudev lectures that how bhakti actually works in our lives and purifies us is mysterious and subtle - somehow or other we cannot perceive it but it works on us.To this effect, Gurudev quotes 1.5.18 of Srimad Bhagavatam:
"As long as a person is fully in cooperation with the wishes of the Lord, guided by the bona fide brahmanas and Vaisnavas and strictly following religious principles, one has no cause for despondency, however trying the circumstances of life."
Here it is said that although an enemy thinks of Krsna unfavorably, the Lord is unaffected by such antidevotional service. Thus He offers His benedictions even to Sisupala and similarly inimical conditioned souls.
Srimad Bhagavatham is full of nectarean instructions for us to follow in our day to day life. But these instructions becomes more appealing and gets indelibly impressed in our minds when it is linked with a story for all types of devotees like small children upto senior devotees.
Devotional service in the association of devotees is the cause of the development of further devotional service. By devotional service only is one elevated to the transcendental planet Goloka Vrndavana.
