Mukunda is the personality of Godhead who only can award liberation. But when? As our Maharaj's three classes in this short visit insisted that we have to intensify our devotional service.
Below is a very important conversation by His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada regarding time. Srila Prabhupada says here how we as devotees can save time and any thing done for the service of Krsna saves time.
Yesterday Gurudev gave us thenectar of Srimad Bhagavatam and showed us practically how to intensify our devotional service.
Our Gurudev stressed these points in very simple statements:
. Whatever you hard-wire in the protected parts of your brain when it is functioning, you will be able to re-draw on and will re-orientate you when everything else fails. The most important thing to hardwire into the brain, would be the transcendental sound vibration which is non-different from Krsna himself.
In a number of his lectures, H G Devakinandan Prabhuji used to say that shastras are simple for the simple minded and can be as complex as one wants it to be.
If you look above, I mentioned that I picked up Gurudev's "used clothes" and not "dirty clothes". It is a delibrate choice of words on my part because it is from this incident that I learned that there is nothing "dirty" about the spritual master.
"Therefore intelligent persons, avoiding useless argument and speculation, should accept what is stated in scriptures like the Vedas, Gita, and Srimad-Bhagavatam and follow the principles they set down. This will lead one to understanding."
We have to do everything at our disposal to lead a simple and clean life so that even if we commit some sin unknowingly, then the Lord will save us as He says in the ultimate sloka 18.66 - aham tvam sarva paapebhyo mokshayishyaami " I will deliver you from all sinful reactions."
It is said that Krsna is Madana-Mohana 'the Enchanter of the cupid, ie., He attracts even the Cupid. But Radharani is Madana-Mohana-Mohini ' the Enchanter of the Enchanter of the cupid. She is the dearmost lover of Krsna, so much so that, even Krishna cannot understand the level of Her love.
Prasannatha (cheerfulness) is the only saving grace. And this we can get only through Srimad Bhagavatam. Because Bhagavatam does not pertain to any particular generation or age. It is eternal. So if we are with Bhagavatam, then we are always blissful."
The only conversation that could save us from all the troubles is Hari-katha .Whenever we meet people we should engage in conversing and glorifying Krishna instead of disucssing about political or economical matters
Vyavasaayatmikaa Buddhi - one pointed intelligence, is very essential for success. This can be done only by Bhakti-yoga for which Srila Prabhupada has given such a simple routine to be followed.
"Be in the world, but not of the world". The Lotus is the perfect example for this statement. We have to be in this world as long as we possess these bodies, but at the same time we do not identifyourselves with this world and be obsessed by it. Krishna's nature is like that too
O Master, Please be merciful to us and give us the shade of your lotus feet. Srila Prabhupada is really merciful and if we sincerely pray to him, by his mercy, we will be able to cross this ocean of birth and death.
The more we become mad after talking and hearing about Krishna, the more we can become pure in our hearts (srnvataam sva-katha krsnah punya sravana kirtanah hrdyantasto hi abhadrani vidhunoti suhrd sataam).
Every one of us wants to have Krishna as ourchild! We are all wondering as to what will attract the Lord to come and play with us? When Krishna appeared as the son ofVasudeva and Devaki, He explained to them the reasons why He accepted them as His parents.
There are so many things which we can win over in this material world. But there is one thing over which we have no control and that is time. Nobody can capture time. It just slips away.
ear is the only entrance for the spiritual nectar and when we hear the nectar from pure devotee the potency is very high. The following anecdote shows the inconceivable power of suddha-nama chanted by pure devotee of Krishna.
So many times we hear devotees saying, "Bhagavatam is non-different from Krsna". But I never got the understanding of what does it exactly mean by that statement
"He has no muscles at all in his body and the skin is touching the bone. For a person in this condition, the intensity of the pain will be so severe that he should be screaming in pain at the top of his voice. Whereas he is so calm and composed and instead goes on with his translation of Srimad Bhagavatam."
We celebrate Janmashtami festival once in a year. But in reality, every day is Janmashtami for us, provided we remember Him every day, every moment and try to render service to Him. If we serve Him sincerely, He will appear in our hearts every day, and this will result in full joy for us.
Whenever we (aspiring devotees) try to do anything in our devotional service, we can cross-check with this instruction and see what we are going to do will help us follow the principle - "Always remember Krishna and never forget Krishna". If "yes", then we can go ahead without any second thought.
Every reversal or fortune that comes to our lives, we must apply Krsna's instructions, or Guru's instructions to that reversal or fortune, and by doing so, we follow the instructions of the Lord and His representative, who, despite all the inebrities of the living entity, mercifully never become angry with us!
Sometimes devotees also ask questions, like, "Will I also suffer like them if I become a devotee?" Or Sometimes they get question in their minds, "What is the point in going through all this trouble of getting up early in the morning, doing so much service, sadhana etc., if in the end I have to suffer just like any other karmi (or most times even worse than the karmis)?"
"Do not be depressed. All along my godbrothers gave me only depression, repression,compression- but I continued strong in my duty.So never mind there in some discouragement, continue with your work in full enthusiastic Krishna Conciousness attitude of service."
From our side we have to possess both the qualities - to render service just for the sheer pleasure of rendering the service, and, to appreciate every living entity for whatever they do, doesn't matter if that is small or big. Then we will attain the stage of brahma-bhuta prasannatma na shocati na kanshati.
"A devotee knows how to engage himself and others in the service of Krsna completely, as well as all the wealth of the world in the matter of propagating Krsna consciousness. Rest assured."
