Recently one of our godbrother HG DheerajKrishna Prabhuji visited India and during his visit he sincerely desired to preach the messages of Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
Maharaj immediately replied in a grave voice, “Sajjan, my breaths are limited and anytime I may pass away. I do not have faith in this breath and therefore every breath has to be used in devotional service or otherwise when again I will get this opportunity to use these breaths in His service I do not know.
Recently, I met a person with whom I was sharing about our Krishna Consciousness programmes. I was explaining him how our devotional service improves if we always remain in Krishna Consiousness and continue to remain in the association of devotees.
In general people ask why the children should be taught about Krishna conciousness, when they are not mature enough to understand the meaning of the slokas
When I offered the above Mahabharata sloka at the feet of Maharaj, Maharaj explained, "When we see a skyscraper or rich building belonging to somebody, immediately our heart starts burning.
He prays, "Dear Lord Krishna, please do not consider my bad qualities. You are known as Samadarashi, You who are equal to everyone. So if You want, please liberate me. One piece of iron is used in puja, another one is laying at the blacksmith's place. But the touchstone doesn't consider this, but turns both into gold."
"Since an animal such as I has surrendered unto You, who are supremely liberated, certainly You will release me from this dangerous position. Indeed, being extremely merciful, You incessantly try to deliver me. By your partial feature as Paramätmä,
The general argument in atheism is, "We can believe in God only when we see Him. How to believe in something which we cannot see at all?" Maharaj refuted this by saying "Everywhere we believe without seeing. For example, you're here in UK. Definitely you must have applied for VISA
"Therefore, desiring to marry a girl of like disposition who may prove to be a veritable cow of plenty in my married life, to satisfy my lustful desire I too have sought the shelter of Your lotus feet, which are the source of everything, for You are like a desire tree."
We are continuing with the topic "Appointment with Krishna", the wonderful nectarean instructions flowing from the lotus mouth of our beloved Gurudev without any cessation.
"The Lord continued: My dear mother, devotees who receive such transcendental opulences are never bereft of them; neither weapons nor the change of time can destroy such opulences. Because the devotees accept Me as their friend, their relative, their son, preceptor, benefactor and Supreme Deity, they cannot be deprived of their possessions at any time."
"The voice of the Lord vibrated as follows: O best of learned persons, do not fear! I wish all good fortune to you. Become My devotees by hearing and chanting about Me and offering Me prayers, for these are certainly meant to award benedictions to all living entities".
"When the embodied living being controls his nature and mentally renounces all actions, he resides happily in the city of nine gates [the material body], neither working nor causing work to be done."
While it is easy to appreciate those golden words of realization, it is imperative that we also understand the amount of austerity, sacrifice and compassionate heart that went into building those realizations.
If our room is clean, then our mind is clean
If our mind is clean, we can do anything;
If our room is dirty, then so are we
And if we are dirty, we’re not happy;
To come together and think about Krishna is a great fortune. Because this is the perfection of human existence. It is very difficult to have this human birth.
"The Lord continued: Sometime in the future your brother, Uttama, will go hunting in the forest, and while absorbed in hunting, he will be killed. Your stepmother, Suruci, being maddened upon the death of her son, will go to search him out in the forest, but she will be devoured by a forest fire.".
In the material world, when someone who is working under our control, either at home or at work, rebels our supremacy and wishes to go away from us, we tend to develop hatred towards that person. When that person leaves us and starts living separately, we are eager to hear about their down-fall and feel internally happy that it is good for them to suffer as he had decried my supremacy etc...So narrow is our mind.
Maharaj explained that to find the quiet corner is very difficult. Everywhere there is noise pollution. Still we can perform devotional service and come out of the danger by following the verses of Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavat gita. This is lighthouse.
"Before reciting the Srimad Bhagavatam, which is the very means of conquest, one should offer respectful obeisances unto the Personality of Godhead, Narayana, unto Nara-Narayana Rsi, the super most human being , unto mother Sarasvati, the goddess of learning, and unto Srila Vyasadeva, the author."
"Beyond this gross conception of form is another, subtle conception of form, which is without formal shape and is unseen, unheard and unmanifest. The living being has his form beyond this subtlety, otherwise he could not have repeated births."
Last night, as I was driving my car, I did not notice the red light and passed through the traffic. The traffic police immediately stopped me. The Policeman asked me, "Do you know why did I stop you?" I answered, "No sir, I was just following the other cars and driving normally".
We are really very fortunate to be with Srila Gurudev whose unlimited compassion, overwhelmed us with nectarean ocean of Krishna's names, qualities and pastimes, in spite of scorching summer.
Maharaj said - "Theistic conduct, i.e. having faith in Krishna, will perfect our life as our minds would be steady when we are with Krishna. Restlessness is the product of modern age - Kali which is age of quarrel, disturbance and misunderstanding. If we want to save ourselves from all these degradations of Kali
