Kapila Muni is so merciful that He has given such simple ways for us to practice devotional service and perfect our lives even though we are the most fallen living entities of this most degraded age of kali. Actually this is like a bumper prize for us, which 100% we don't deserve at all. Just like we are so careful to utilize the best available opportunity to earn and save wealth in our life when the market is good, we should also take full advantage of this simple process.
One should not be puffed up because he is entrusted with certain executive work. Fortunate is he who is so entrusted, and if he is always fixed in the sense of being subordinate to the will of the Supreme, he is sure to come out successful in the discharge of his work
Anyone who takes pride in doing responsible work but does not give credit to the Supreme Lord is certainly falsely proud and cannot execute anything nicely
.Maharaj emphasises that material sound vibrations always create disturbance and spiritual sound vibrations are meant to create peace. This is because this sound vibration helps us to revive our dormant consciousness
This is the humility the Lord expects from us and infact, only a devotee who has this humility and willingness to do anything to please the Lord, will become the rightful heir to receive the Lord's mercy.
Permanency feeling is always there. But every page of Bhagavatam teaches us the temporary nature of this material existence. We only waste our time looking at others - 'Oh - He is very much attracted to illusory energy - but I am not.' Reality is we are more attracted to illusory energy. Never compare or find faults with others. You do your sadhana individually.
We are all incapable at every level of our existence. We have to understand our incapability and at the same time realize how magnanimous the Lord is in accepting our meager service although He is served by thousands of Laksmnis in His abode.
One who is not envious but who is a kind friend to all living entities, who does not think himself a proprietor, who is free from false ego and equal both in happiness and distress, who is always satisfied and engaged in devotional service with determination and whose mind and intelligence are in agreement with Me--he is very dear to Me
Krishna is the only supreme truth to whom we can surrender. This is completely stamped. It is decided for us that Krishna is the only one who can give some benediction to us. In the whole of the material and spiritual manifestation, He is the only supreme autocrat. We have to surrender to Him
Due to our strong attachment with material modes, we somehow or the other fail to see or easily overlook our own faults, but never miss out on finding faults of other devotees who are also engaged in the service of the Lord
Everything animate or inanimate helplessly follows the order of Krishna. This buddhi is visuddha buddhi or purified intelligence. Those who understand this transcendental fact of the full control of the Supreme Personality of Godhead are not stuck anywhere in the material world because in any situation they think that it is under the control of Krishna. If He wants, what can we do? That is how we are completely out of anxiety – out of petty differences. That is the purpose of Bhagavatam- to clear our intelligence.
She also was breathing very heavily, and she did not know the factual remedy for the painful situation. Not finding any remedy, she said to her son: My dear son, don't wish for anything inauspicious for others. Anyone who inflicts pains upon others suffers himself from that pain
Being beyond the range of limited sense perception, You are the eternally irreproachable factor covered by the curtain of deluding energy. You are invisible to the foolish observer, exactly as an actor dressed as a player is not recognized.
We all know the story of Ajamila that although Ajamila was referring to the small child and not to the original Narayana, the name of Narayana is so powerful that even by chanting his son’s name he was becoming purified. Although calling for his son, he was unknowingly chanting the name of Narayana, and the holy name of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is so transcendentally powerful that his chanting was counted and recorded.
"Persons who are actually intelligent and philosophically inclined should endeavor only for that purposeful end which is not obtainable even by wandering from the topmost planet [Brahmaloka] down to the lowest planet [Patala]. As far as happiness derived from sense enjoyment is concerned, it can be obtained automatically in course of time, just as in course of time we obtain miseries even though we do not desire them."
Maharaj was emphasizing on the word "ikshanam" in this verse which Srila Prabhupada translates as "audience". Maharaj explained in detail how this specific word has been chosen in this verse instead of the normal usage of the word "pashya" which means "to see". Maharaj said that "pashya" means seeing from a material point of view whereas "ikshanam" means "seeing beyond" or perceiving. Maharaj revealed the essence behind Srila Prabhupada's translation of this word as "audience".
Srimad Bhagavatam gives us the real opulence and in the midst of miseries also, we are seeing Krishna and we are not worried. It makes us accept the facts of life. We have our foundation very strong. That foundation does not allow us to quit Prabhupada and roam here and there. As soon as you commit that offence of quitting prabhupada, even Krishna will not tolerate and it is the bankruptcy of our devotional service.
The Supreme Personality of Godhead is certainly not known to everyone, but He is very powerful and influential. Therefore, although the serpent of eternal time, which is fearful in force, endlessly chases everyone, ready to swallow him, if one who fears this serpent seeks shelter of the Lord, the Lord gives him protection, for even death runs away in fear of the Lord. I therefore surrender unto Him, the great and powerful supreme authority who is the actual shelter of everyone.
Within the material world, one’s material body is always subject to birth and decay. Similarly, the life air [praana] is harassed by hunger and thirst, the mind is always anxious, the intelligence hankers for that which cannot be obtained, and all of the senses are ultimately exhausted by constant struggle in the material nature. A person who is not bewildered by the inevitable miseries of material existence, and who remains aloof from them simply by remembering the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, is to be considered bhaagavata-pradhaana, the foremost devotee of the Lord
He does not speak of anything but the topics about Krishna; therefore he is called silent. Silent does not mean that one should not speak; silent means that one should not speak nonsense. One should speak only of essentials, and the most essential speech for the devotee is to speak for the sake of the Supreme Lord.
