Really we do not have any value, but because of our false ego we think that we are all in all. Our position is null and void. Nothing we can create. Nothing we can enjoy. Nothing doing except to recognize the authority-the Adideva.
"Last night I was ready to leave (he said that 2 times to us in that episode), but I thought that if Krsna wants I will continue - but I have to tolerate to discover what the Lord wants, and not impose on Him."
There are only 2 kinds of persons. Detached persons and attached persons. Attached persons never smiles at everybody. Whereas detached person is free with everybody. Srila Prabhupada writes very clearly.
Maharaj being transcendental and pure devotee, his unlimited compassion for all of his disciples and well-wishers is so much that he decided to meet all of his disciples who are interested to have his darshan in the next few days.
Everything belongs to Him, whether you like it or not. This is the fact. But what we do ? We try to lock the door. We don't take it as His mercy. tena tyaktena bhunjeetha - Whatever quota is reserved for you please enjoy that alone.
He is the only Personality in the entire universe who is fit to be glorified by one and all because He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. And to serve Him with full awe and reverence we should hear through the Guru, Sadhu and Shastra how great He is.
Without any warning Maharaj started to get excruciating shots of pain that would run from his lower back down his right leg. Every 10 to 15 seconds this pain would shoot down his leg like an electric shock. The pain was so horrible that Maharaja's leg would kick violently in the air and he would scream in agony
Hanumanji had only one priority. He wanted to serve Rama's desire of locating Sita. So he started to cross the ocean with full faith in Rama's name. Rama's name has so much of potency. That is why even a small stone with the name of Rama was able to float.
Out of many million human beings, how many are conscious about the complexities of this material world. Everyone thinks that this world is all beautiful, all glorious and I am born here to enjoy my life. I was told that in the western countries people do multiple jobs to earn more income to have maximum (so called) enjoyment. What is enjoyment?
There was saint who was an exalted devotee of the Lord and having great mystic powers. He had many disciples who were getting trained in devotional service. Once one of his disciples approached him and said, "Guruji, How come you're always peaceful and tranquil?
It is purifying both for the questioners and for one who answers the questions. The pure devotees are not only satisfied by knowing everything about the Lord, but are also eager to broadcast the information to others, for they want to see that the glories of the Lord are known to everyone.
Srila Prabhupada gives us all hope, courage and solution through the following lines - "But here is the hint to get over the hurdle. If we want actual peace, we must open the road to understanding of the Supreme Lord Krishna and glorify Him for His virtuous activities as they are depicted in the pages of Srimad-Bhagavatam."
Sometimes it is amazing to note that even though we are born in the holy land of India, we are transforming ourselves slowly whereas foreigners and those who have come directly without any previous carry overs, have followed Srila Prabhupada readily and more seriously.
Somebody may be greatly intelligent but he may not be powerful. Somebody may be humble but he may not be intelligent. Someone may be humble but they may not be attached to devotional service. But Hanumanji is a wonderful combination of all these four qualities.
Parents always love their children and nobody can replace the parents in this world. Till the parents are alive, please serve them to the best of your ability. And forget their defects. We are not here to point out the defects of the elders.
Soul, God, self-realization, many can talk about these terms, but to experience them as a reality - to realize them - is not easy. If one realizes that God is the only source of real happiness, one will give up seeking happiness through self-destructive means like intoxication, gambling, illicit sex and meat-eating.
A Professor once invited few of his former students to his home for a get together. All the invited students assembled with great enthusiasm. The professor also prepared very delicious and nice Chocolate Drink to serve his guests.
Normally in this age of Kali no one likes to be around old people. From a material point of view, old age means invalid and inactive. But our Maharaj even at this ripe age of 90, with all the bodily difficulties still travels around and preaches pure Krishna consciousness, stays so independently without much help from any one, is building big temple projects in Rajkot, Panvel etc.
We might be facing some difficulty now and would be thinking that there is nothing more miserable than this. But after some time we face something more complex and then we realise that our previous misery was comparatively less intense. In such situations we might wonder how to get out of these sufferings and might even start believing that there is no way out.
Once Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu told Srila Sanatana Gosvami that all scriptures stress association with pure devotees of the godhead. The opportunity to associate with a pure devotee of the Supreme Lord is the beginning of one's complete perfection.
This dedication and determination of Guru Maharaj inspired me completely. I just admired the faith that our Guru Maharaj has in the Lord and the way he ignores all the bodily pains for all our spiritual benefits. Every word Maharaj speaks is complete inspiration and every action of Maharaj demonstrates complete surrender.
It is about a person who lived in a city called Gandhara. Once his eyes were covered with a bandage he was led away from his city and he was left in a place where no human beings lived in that area. Being blind folded, that person was bewildered and he turned towards all directions east, north, south and west and he shouted, "I have been brought here with my eyes covered and I have been left here with my eyes covered"
Dandavat-class of men. That means simply he knows how to make dandavats, that’s all. (laughter) Anyone who will come to him, he would see whether he is a dandavat-class of man or hearing class of man. So dandavat is nice, but by offering dandavat, if one does not develop the intent of hearing, sravanam, then he is not making very much progress.
By the blessings of the Lord and our Guru Maharaj around 190 devotees participated in the program and all of them including small children nicely and enthusiastically chanted the Hare Krishna Maha mantra. In all a total of 5046 rounds (malas) of Hare Krishna Maha mantra was chanted on that day.
Only one has to think how incapable we are to execute any work independently. This is pure fact that we fail or make mistakes in our day to day work due to our failure to remember the Lord in however minute the task may be. We do not realize that we have no capability to execute any work that is entrusted to us.
Once Lord Ramachandra was sitting with Srimati Sita Devi and brother Laxman. Of course the great devotee Hanuman was sitting at the lotus feet of Lord Ramachandra and was chanting His Holy Names with his eyes closed.
Pure devotees are so called due to their behaviour and attitude towards fallen souls. Their only aim of life is to lead everyone to the loving service of the lotus feet of Lord. Srimad Bhagavad Gita is one example where Arjuna is asking questions to the Lord.
"To award fearlessness to the common man is the greatest act of charity. A sannyaasi, or one who is in the renounced order of life, should wander from door to door, from village to village, from town to town and from country to country, all over the world as far as he is able to travel, and enlighten the householders about Krishna consciousness."
