One of the devotees asked a question to our beloved Gurudev HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj that this process of devotional service and the spiritual journey seems to be a long one and Maharaj very lovingly answered as follows.
One who considers himself lord of the family is mentally unbalanced. Further, we need to nail in our dull head that everything in this material world is temporary (duhkhaalayam ashaasvatam) so that we hanker for future happiness. The householders who realise the future happiness as temporary are considered by Krishna to be intelligent.
