This is in continuation of the previous topic "Effects of Glorifying Supreme Lord", wherein we were meditating on verse 1.6.33 of Srimad Bhagavatam. By causeless mercy of Guru and Krishna, today we came across a lecture given by our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on the same verse in New Zealand in 1992.
Our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj used to narrate a nice pastime of how once Narada Muni went to meet the Lord in Vaikuntha. He had to wait there for long time, but could not have the Lord's darshan.
We often fail to understand His plan in totality and jump to wrong conclusion. In this regard let us relish the pastimes of Lord Krishna's son Pradyumna for our own purification.
One of the important instruction of Lord Krishna in Bhagavad Gita is to do our prescribed duties. But many times we find that there is a misconception in the society that after taking up devotional service, one need not do his prescribed duties.
This is the conclusion of the previous offering titled, "Duties of Householder" wherein we were meditating on some of the duties of grahasta as explained by Lord Sri Krishna to Uddhava.
In the Mahabharata, Dronacharya was an important person. Before he became teacher of Pandavas and Kauravas, he was living in severe poverty. He approached his childhood friend Drupada (King of Panchala) for help. But he insulted Drona and refused to help him.

In the Srimad Bhagavatam (verses 4.23.13-14) we learn how Maharaja Prthu performed kundalini-yoga, sitting in a special posture called muktasana, which facilitates directing one's life energy upward, penetrating six material energy centers (chakras) by yogic force.

Devotional service means that a person puts himself in the role of a devotee (bhakta) of the Lord by following the process of bhakti-yoga as given in the Pancharatric Vaishnava scriptures like the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
