As devotees, we must learn to tolerate when our ideas or thoughts clash. We must continue service to Lord and Guru instead of mulling over an event or complaining.

When spiritual masters and senior devotees chastise us (to improve / correct us) have firm faith that they will also protect us always as they are highly merciful. We must have strong assurance on their way of teaching and explaining.

Lord Jagannathji stays in our heart as Paramatma. So our heart is also a temple. However, currently the heart is impure because of high ego, propensity to enjoy, penchant for fame / money / sense gratification. So, we must keep getting rid of all these impurities in our heart regularly, so that Lord chooses to stay here pleasingly and forever.

No blaming others. We are at fault. When we see our own faults, tulsi, what is it? tulsi, daya bhai janiye jab dikhe apna dosh. We don’t see our faults. That is the greatest fault. We should always see. There is always a grain of truth in any criticism. People criticise us and nindak niyare rākhiye, means always we must keep someone near to criticize us. Why? bin pani bin sabun ke mal dhoy (laughs). Without soap and without water he cleans our life.

it doesn’t matter whether you stay in the temple or outside the temple, but the process has got to be followed. You have to get up early in the morning, may not be at 4 o'clock. According to your work schedule you should fix the time, but never after sunrise you know.

So then what happened they used to come. He used to go home occasionally and then eventually they were attracted. So now whole family is initiated and they are all coming and going very happily now, no blames to ISKCON, this is how it should be arranged.

You will not, you will never be peaceful because your activity is wrong. So this is how, our activities must be correct (Maharaj speaking in Gujarati). Till you are younger it’s your duty to obey mother and father. Whatever they tell is for your good. So you did this. That’s why you are in college now.

Prabhupad said that the thing which we steal, doesn’t accompany us but the reaction of the karma we have to suffer. We don’t know about that and that’s why haphazardly we don’t have faith in karmic theory at all, Karmas will catch you everywhere.

You are sitting in your own house. So you have to come to the highway to go to your destination. So at the moment we are not on the highway. We are just on by-lanes from the house and we are just entangling there. These are all by-lanes - selfish interest, hypocrisy, everything is by-lanes. We have to, at least we have to come to the high road, before you try to imagine that you are going to your destination. So don’t get entangled to the by-lanes.

How long show can continue? Only for three hours. Mahābhārat show can continue only for three hours. After that, you are you and he is he. Show cannot continue, but we are very expert in showing the things which we are not and then one day we are revealed you know.

Krishna being our source, our kind father, He doesn’t want anything from us. But He only wants us to go back to Him. That’s His desire as a father. He doesn’t want anything from us and that is very clean relationship. Next replica of that relationship, on this planet, is our parent’s relationship. Father may sometimes behave roughly but mother will never behave, mother doesn’t.

This unclean habit, that is cheating. Because we are not clean, so we have to cheat. (laughter). It goes without saying. These things only disappear with conscious, pure conscious cleaning. You should not do even bhakti. Bhakti is afterwards, first comes cleaning. I don’t know how to insist, in everything.

Regulated life is absent. Cleanliness, cleanliness will definitely help you to have discipline in the life, because you are happy to see your things nicely arranged, you know what you have, you know what you lack, you buy something which are needed.

The man himself, the individual himself or herself, he is the impediment to himself or herself. Nobody is the reason. Really if we deeply think, we are at mistake and Bhāgavatam says, "if there is any difficulty, blame yourself so that matter ends." But we don’t want to blame ourselves, we blame others.

This hen is very good, giving every day one egg. But the..., its mouth is expensive. It eats. So let me cut the mouth, simply take the egg." So there are rascals, they study Bhagavad-gītā on this principle of ardha-kukkuṭī-nyāya. "Cut this, take this; cut this, take this." So if you cut the head, there will be no more egg. The rascal does not know.

The cheater said, “Your cooking pot gave birth to the little one. It happens to pots that I borrow: the large cooking pot gives birth to a small cooking pot.”

At any point of time, please remember that we cannot control our senses on our own. We should pray to Krishna to help us in controlling them. So we should never become proud that we have controlled the senses. If at any point of time, we think that we have controlled the senses, then its like throwing Vindhyacal mountain into the ocean and saying that it will float.

For those who have achieved the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the master of the pure devotees, what is impossible to do, and what is impossible to give up?

Suppose when you have got sense, improved consciousness, human being, if one asks you to stand up here for one hour, it will be so troublesome. And even if you are forced to stand up for one hour, you'll feel so much uncomfortable. But this tree, because it has not developed consciousness, it is standing up for ten thousands of years, and in open atmosphere, tolerating all kinds of excessive heat, rain, snowfall. But still, it is capturing.This is the difference between developed consciousness and undeveloped consciousness. So the more you develop your consciousness, the more you become a freedom lover.

Even you don't understand the meaning, the very sound vibration will help you. Now we have finished one chapter within five minutes. How much time it took? I don't think more than five minutes. So everyone should chant every day at least one chapter.

One thing was there, because he was himself fiery, that’s why he could change the society, otherwise he could not have done. And because he was depending on his own purity, so there was no other thing required.

Unless the society is based on the Bhagavatam principles, even the businesses cannot go on alright. In order to have our own profession, to run smoothly, we must have a Vedic society.

The time is transcendental, but when we are doing the devotional service, we don’t feel the aches or pains or whatever, never, don’t feel at all. We are completely immersed with Krishna. This is non-different from Krishna, so we don’t really feel the aches or pain or anything. 

Discretion is the better part of valor, and one must learn how to discriminate between actions which may be pleasing to the Lord and those which may not be pleasing to the Lord. An action is thus judged by the Lord’s pleasure or displeasure. There is no room for personal whims; we must always be guided by the pleasure of the Lord.

Somehow or the other, with all these terrible conditions around us, we should put our heads into Srimad Bhagavatam and take out the essence and present it in front of the younger generation or society. Somebody must be eager to hear. The society whole will not be eager, but somebody must be very eager to hear. And that group we want to increase. And that’s what the desire of Prabhupada was there.

Duryodhana said ‘you did a very nasty thing, you should not have done that. Now who is going to look after of our dynasty? Our dynasty has ended’. Duryodhana was very, very, very, very much worried about this at the time of death. 

Subtle intoxications are more dangerous than the gross ones. Tea we can stop, coffee we can stop, or drinks we can avoid, but how can I avoid the envy? It is ingrained in our being. That is the trouble.

Age is there, body is in your control. You don’t know how lucky you are to have your body in your control. Unless you come to the waning age, you will not realise this. This is the greatest boon you have at the moment – that your body is under your control. Same body will dislocate and eventually aches, and pains are everywhere and then pass away. This is the body we are carrying. Till it is in order, make use of it, otherwise the time is running out

Showy humility again is intoxication. We are not humble, and we want to show. How long can we show what we are not? We can be Ravana for 3 hours, not for the whole of lifetime. I am not Ravana. So that which we are not, how can we show?

These fellows, have drank wine and they were intoxicated. But without wine also, we are intoxicated. That we should stop. Without wine how? If I am rich, I am intoxicated. If I am learned, I am intoxicated.
