Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev!

The following is a humble effort to transcribe a part of the discussion between our beloved Gurudev HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj and his disciples. Here Maharaj is referring to Srimad Bhagavatam verse 6.11.26.

ajaata-pakshaa iva maataram khagaah
stanyam yathaa vatsataraah kshudh-aartaah
priyam priyeva vyushitam vishannaa
mano 'ravindaaksha didrkshate tvaam

"O lotus-eyed Lord, as baby birds that have not yet developed their wings always look for their mother to return and feed them, as small calves tied with ropes await anxiously the time of milking, when they will be allowed to drink the milk of their mothers, or as a morose wife whose husband is away from home always longs for him to return and satisfy her in all respects, I always yearn for the opportunity to render direct service unto You."

This is a prayer by Vrtrasura. It is a beautiful verse. Lyric is also beautiful. (Maharaj very soulfully sings the verse in the tune of kavim puraanam verse in Bhagavad Gita verse 8.9) ajaata pakshaa iva maataram khagaah - He gives one example in the line. There are small birds, very young birds. They haven't grown the wings. They are just lying in the nest and they wait for their mother to come. They know that as soon as the mother comes, mother will feed. Very anxiously, for the whole day, they wait for the big bird, mother bird to come and feed. Then second example is given about the calf. stanyam yathaa vatsataraah kshudh-aartaah - The calf  is also very small. He can hardly stand in the beginning. He cannot chew the grass. So he is tied to a peg. Cow goes for grazing during the day. So he waits for the cow and as soon as in the evening, when the cow comes and if the calf is loosened from his peg, it straightaway runs to drink the milk. He doesn't wait for anybody. If anybody says that, "Hey! stop! I want to marry you!", he will say, "Forget about the marriage. I want to drink milk." You will see in Dwaraka, as soon as the calves are loosened, they straightaway go to the cow mother.

Then the third example is the devoted wife. priyam priyeva vyushitam vishannaa - Her husband may have gone to a foreign country or somewhere. So she waits very anxiously for his return. These three examples give us the idea of how our sincerity should be to see Krishna through devotional service.

Maharaj went on to explain how we should have the sincerity and anxiety to see Krishna and we shall see the same in the next offering, Krishna willing.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev,
Vaijayanti mala devi dasi,
