Dear Vaishnavas,

Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

Devotees in the line of disciplic succession of the vaishnava sampradayas always have the intense desire to give as much opportunity to the public at large to taste the nectar of Krishna consciousness. Specifically in the bhakti cult of the Hare Krishna movement started by Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu which belongs to the Brahma Sampradaya, the acaryas and almost all the devotees possess a burning desire to preach the message of bhakti to as many jivas as possible.

Many times this tendency is misconstrued to be exhibitionism or baptism by general public (especially in India) and they tend to attach a tag 'fanatic' to those devotees who preach in the Hare Krishna movement. But the reality is that those who come in contact with the books of Srila Prabhupada and start chanting the Hare Krishna Mahamantra, cannot help but follow in his footsteps and take up the mood of preaching. Just like any object that comes in contact with the fire gains the property of the fire, the same way, as soon as we come in contact with Srila Prabhupada's literatures, immediately we also develop a desire to preach. This is evident from innumerous live examples of devotees who have taken to preaching Krishna consciousness as their life's mission.

This mood of preaching and saving the lives of all the suffering souls, is the underlying thread of Srimad Bhagavatam and is highlighted in so many sections of this great literature. Infact Lord Krishna Himself asserts this fact by reiterating this mood of Lord Brahma who desired to procreate unlimited number of living entities, not for his own sense enjoyment, but to give them a chance to take up devotional service at some point in their cycle of birth and death. Thus we can realize the unfathomable mercy of the great vaishnava Lord Brahma in the words of Lord Sri Krishna Himself in SB 3.9.34,

naanaa-karma-vitaanena / prajaa bahveeh sisrkshatah
naatmaavaseedaty asmims te / varsheeyaan mad-anugrahah

"Since you have desired to increase the population innumerably and expand your varieties of service, you shall never be deprived in this matter because My causeless mercy upon you will always increase for all time."

In his beautiful purport Srila Prabhupada says, "A pure devotee of the Lord, being cognizant of the facts of the particular time, object and circumstances, always desires to expand the number of devotees of the Lord in various ways. Such expansions of transcendental service may appear to be material to the materialist, but factually they are expansions of the causeless mercy of the Lord towards the devotee. Plans for such activities may appear to be material activities, but they are different in potency, being engaged in the satisfaction of the transcendental senses of the Supreme."

The above purport is applicable to all the vaishnava acaryas starting from Lord Brahma, more specifically to Srila Prabhupada himself who exploded the Hare Krishna movement throughout the world in a very short span of time. Due to his intense desire, he attracted the unlimited causeless mercy of Lord Krishna which is the main ingredient for the success in our spiritual endeavors. But to attract the causeless mercy of Krishna, our desire must be pure, our sincerity must be intense and our endeavors must be dauntless.

While attracting so many souls to Krishna consciousness, Srila Prabhupada also ingeniously expanded unlimited opportunities for service to all those sincere souls. From morning 4 am to night 9 pm, every devotee in the temple is busy with service. He has created so many opportunity for preaching through Book distribution, Prasadam distribution, Harinam, College seminars, Kirtan programs, Spiritual schooling, Ratha-yatra and other festivals, Temple construction..., the list is endless. This is all due to his totally unmotivated desire for distributing the mercy of Lord Krishna to anyone and everyone.

May we take inspiration from all our acaryas starting from Lord Brahma to Srila Prabhupada and our Guru Maharaj, to take up the mission of preaching the Krishna consciousness to the public at large and bring as many souls as possible to the lotus feet of Lord Sri Krishna. There is no better way to please the Supreme Lord and all our acaryas.

Thank you very much
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Kalacakra Krsna das
