Final Destination - Part 7

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the transcription of the nectarean class of our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.14.35-36 in Sri Sri RadhaNeelMadhav dham, Rajkot on January 24, 2006. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj about the impermanent nature of this material world, our body and how we should not hanker for things which are not in our quota. Let us hear further.
"To some extent we do try to lord it over. But it is allowed - yāvad artha - for the required things, it is allowed. And for the rest of the thing, we are very generous. Here, we are spending for Krishna, developing the land, building the temple. As the lakmi (money) comes, it goes into the service for temple construction. Many times we take the thing which are very expensive. But even then, Krishna provides. We are dreaming to have a marble temple here in Rajkot. It is very costly, beyond our means. But even then Krishna is there to arrange. This is how Dwaraka temple was also built. These devotees were there and they wanted to build a small hall. But we thought that let us have a stone building. And something is already there. So this is how, if we allow the philosophy to guide us in our practical life, it is successful because it is based on the truth. And truth always everywhere, regardless of land or time or whatever, in all circumstances, these things are very possible.

The point doesn't stop here - putting the philosophy into practice. At the same time, we must have the idea of our permanent destination and that is directed by this purport (verse 1.14.35-36 of Srimad Bhagavatam). Srila Prabhupada explains how in this verse Yudhishtir Maharaj has compared the citizens of Dwaraka to the residents of Vaikuntha loka and has then described how Vaikuntha loka is. "Beyond the material sky, further than we can see with our eyes and beyond the sevenfold coverings of the universe, there is the Causal Ocean in which all the universes are floating like footballs.."

We should have complete idea about these seven coverings. This universe and all universes are like eggs. And the first covering is the land covering. We are staying on the land and some diameter is there, because it is like an egg. First covering is 10 times the diameter of the universe. We are kind of locked up. This is imprisonment. The wall of this prison is very strong. And all the planets are floating in causal ocean. We cannot get out. So first covering is land covering which is 10 times the diameter. So how thick the wall should be there. The second covering is water covering and it is 10 times the first covering. How difficult it is to get out? Can you imagine even if you try hard, it is very difficult to get out? This is real imprisonment. It is not like our prison here wherein if you break two bricks, you can go away. No. 10 times thick covering of land is there, then water and then 10 times the water covering, we have agni covering. How much agni should be there and who supplies the fuel? That's why Krishna's energies, His capacities are known as acintya-guṇa-svarūpaṁ. We cannot think about it or conceive it. It is inconceivable."

Krishna willing we shall continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Sudarshana devi dasi.
