Do unto others ...

Do unto others ...

Sudarshana devi dasi

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Mathajis ,

Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev.

In Srimad Bhagavad Gita, 12.15  Lord Krishna  says,

‘yasmaan nodvijate loko lokaan nodvijate ca yah
harshaamarsha bhayod vegair mukto yah sa ca me priyah’

“He for whom no one is put into difficulty and who is not disturbed by anyone, who is equipoised in happiness and distress, fear and anxiety is very dear to me “.

We find a nice Biblical equivalent for this verse, "Do unto others as you would like others to do unto you".These things become very clear as soon as we realise the "real" purpose of our life. Then we will never engage ourselves in causing troubles to others nor would we spend time dwelling our thoughts and energy on the troubles caused by others. What might appear as mountain of trouble today, will in due course of time become as small as an ant-hill and vanish away. Everything becomes a dream and so real intelligence lies in understanding the eternal nature of spiritual activities and practising the same under all circumstances as it pleases our Supreme Father.

Each verse in Bhagavad Gita is complete in itself and our purpose of life is fulfilled even if we follow at least a single verse specified in this "Song of God". The words coming from Supreme Lord are infallible just like Him. He has mercifully provided the verses and also the strength and intelligence to recite them. It is upto us to take His words seriously and purify our existence.

Thank you very much ,
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada,
Sudarshana devi dasi.
