Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,

Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev!

This is in continuation of the previous offering transcribing the class by our beloved God brother HG Viraja Krishna prabhuji in Chennai on Brahma's prayers for creative energy (Srimad Bhagavatam verses 3.9.22-25).

In Srimad Bhagavatam 3.9.24 Lord Brahma prays

naabhi-hradaad iha sato 'mbhasi yasya pumso
vijnaana-shaktir aham aasam ananta-shakteh

rupam vicitram idam asya vivrnvato me
maa ririshishta nigamasya giraam visargah

"The Lord's potencies are innumerable. As He lies down in the water of devastation, I am born as the total universal energy from the navel lake in which the lotus sprouts. I am now engaged in manifesting His diverse energies in the form of the cosmic manifestation. I therefore pray that in the course of my material activities I may not be deviated from the vibration of the Vedic hymns."

Here the word rupam vicitram is very nice. It is a creation of varieties. When we see the creations around us, it is amazing and it is all coming from Krishna. Krishna is Ananta shaktiLord of innumerable potencies and He is dhiyaam patih - the controller of all intelligence. Brahmaji is praying that, "In the course of my material activities I may not be deviated from the vibration of the Vedic hymns." What does this mean for us? This means the chanting of the Hare Krishna maha mantra - Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare / Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare

9. Our ultimate promotion: As soon as we deviate from chanting our designated rounds, we have lost the floor already. Because Krishna does not give introspection or insight to do the activity and we will be overcome by pride and we won't be successful in our career. To get promoted in our work, in our current role, we have to do the job properly and without pride, depending on Krishna. Then the boss promotes us. At the same time, Krishna sees and the spiritual master sees that he is a very nice worker. Devotional service is not for lethargic people. Krishna wants to employ Arjuna because he was very diligent. He was endeavoring very hard and he was also a devotee. So Krishna chose him. So we have to be devotee and we have to work very hard. That is the way ultimately our spiritual master will choose us to do the work for Krishna. That is the essence of Bhagavad Gita as mentioned in 11.55

mat-karma-krn mat-paramo / mad-bhaktah sanga-varjitah
nirvairah sarva-bhuteshu / yah sa maam eti paandava

"My dear Arjuna, he who engages in My pure devotional service, free from the contaminations of fruitive activities and mental speculation, he who works for Me, who makes Me the supreme goal of his life, and who is friendly to every living being—he certainly comes to Me."

This is the ultimate promotion we can get. Krishna willing we shall continue to hear more nectar from Prabhuji in the subsequent offerings.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Gurudev and Srila Prabhupada,
