Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev!

This is in continuation of the previous offering titled, "Narada Muni - The Father of Devotional Service". Srimad Bhagavatam 10th canto 69th chapter talks about Narada Muni's visit to Lord Krishna's palaces in Dwaraka to see household pastimes of the Lord. Narada Muni visited all 16108 palaces. Narada Muni first met Lord with Rukminidevi in one palace, then found Lord playing dice with another queen and Uddhava in another palace, then found Sri Krishna coddling with His infant children in one palace and preparing to take bath in another palace, and performing fire sacrifice one palace etc.

Whether it is the role of son, friend, lover, husband or father or king, Krishna plays that role perfectly just to teach us how we should lead our life. Also in spite of being omniscient, Lord sometimes went in disguise to the homes of his ministers and citizens to find out what they were thinking, just like how a normal king sometimes goes incognito to find out information about his kingdom. Seeing these transcendental pastimes of the Lord, Narada Muni smiled.

Wherever Narada Muni went, Krishna always made it a point to receive him properly, and gave him all the respects which a kshatriya should give to brahmana. Krishna washed the lotus feet of Narada Muni and sprinkled the water on His head and then humbly asked Narada Muni as to how He could serve him. Knowing the supremacy of Lord Krishna, His love for His devotees and how Lord teaches common people by His own example, Narada Muni very nicely replies in Srimad Bhagavatam verse 10.69.18

drshtam tavaanghri-yugalam janataapavargam
brahmaadibhir hrdi vicintyam agaadha-bodhaih
samsaara-kupa-patitottaranaavalambam
dhyaayams caraamy anugrhaana yathaa smrtih syaat

"Now I have seen Your feet, which grant liberation to Your devotees, which even Lord Brahma and other great personalities of unfathomable intelligence can only meditate upon within their hearts, and which those who have fallen into the well of material existence resort to for deliverance. Please favor me so that I may constantly think of You as I travel about. Please grant Me the power to remember You."

What a wonderful benediction to ask from the Supreme Lord! Indeed this should be our prayer to Lord to help us always remember Him. The glories of Lord and His devotees are so wonderful. The Lord always wants to serve His devotees more and more and devotee always wants to serve the Lord more and more. There are so many wonderful lessons we should learn from Narada Muni as well as the Supreme Lord in this pastime.

1. We should do our prescribed duties sincerely according to the type of ashram and varna we are placed.
2. We must always respect and serve the devotees of the Lord with great care and attention.
3. We must always pray to the Lord to bless us to remember Him in all situations.
4. We need to serve Lord, tasmad ekena manasaa with single pointed attention and our whole purpose should be to please Lord and nothing else.
5. We should not be a hypocrite but at least try to practice what we speak.

Krishna willing, we will learn more about the Narada Muni's instruction in the next offering.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
