Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis
Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev!

Brahmaji initially attempts for many years to find out the source of his origin. But he is not successful. Later when he does 100 years of penance based on the divine instruction -'ta pa', he received, Lord was pleased with him and blessed him with his transcendental darshan. So no matter how much ever one endeavours, if not for the mercy of Supreme Lord, there is no possibility for one to see the Lord, hear about Him or have His transcendental glance.

After seeing the transcendental form of the Lord, Brahmaji could realise the beauty, greatness and merciful nature of the Supreme Lord. In Srimad Bhagavatam 3.9.2 he prays,

rūpaṁ yad etad avabodha-rasodayena
śaśvan-nivṛtta-tamasaḥ sad-anugrahāya
ādau gṛhītam avatāra-śataika-bījaṁ
yan-nābhi-padma-bhavanād aham āvirāsam

The form which I see is eternally freed from material contamination and has advented to show mercy to the devotees as a manifestation of internal potency. This incarnation is the origin of many other incarnations, and I am born from the lotus flower grown from Your navel home.

Brahmaji could realise that the Lord's form is

a) eternal - śaśvan
b) free from material contamination or in other words completely spiritual - nivṛtta-tamasaḥ
c) original personality - ādau
d) only source of hundreds of incarnations - avatāra-śataika-bījaṁ

In fact Srimad Bhagavatam says us that Lord's incarnation are also unlimited. Its like counting sand particles in the beach or like the number of waves in the ocean. Inspite of all these glorious qualities, the Lord always advents in the material world as well as in all other worlds when His dear devotees call Him. Brahmaji explains the reason for this nicely through this word sad-anugrahāya - for the sake of His devotees, for the pleasure of His devotees. Srila Prabhupada in his wonderful purport to the above verse also says, "From the Kṣīrodakaśāyī Viṣṇu, many Viṣṇu incarnations expand at different ages in the duration of the cosmic manifestation. They are expanded only for the transcendental happiness of the pure devotees." Pure devotees always want to please the Lord and the Lord is always eager to see, hear and serve His devotees.

Akbar once asked Birbal as to why Krishna has to descend so frequently to the material world. Is it not possible or practical for Him to kill the demoniac people and protect His dear devotees from wherever He is. Birbal told Akbar that he would reply to him after some time. Meanwhile Birbal asked a sculptor to make wax doll that would appear like grandson of Akbar. He then asked the care-taker of Akbar's grandson to bring this doll to the banks of lake within Akbar's palace. Birbal took Akbar to the bank of the lake. As informed earlier, the caretaker dropped the wax doll into the lake as soon as Akbar and Birbal arrived there. Akbar did not know that it was not his grandson - but just a dummy doll. So on seeing the baby being dropped Akbar immediately jumped into the lake to protect the child. Later he realised that it was just a wax-doll.

Birbal smiled at Akbar and asked what was the need for Akbar to jump into the lake when there are so many other soldiers around? Akbar replied that because he loved his grandson a lot, he could not wait for others to save the child. Birbal said that although Krishna is the Supreme Lord, He loves His devotees a lot and for this reason He descends in the material world and performs different pastimes to please them.

For the sake of people of this age, the Lord has mercifully incarnated in the form of Holy Names and nectarean Krishna katha. May we always remember and appreciate this merciful nature of Supreme Lord and associate with Him through Holy Names and Krishna katha.

Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much,
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
