Attach to Krishna and Be Peaceful - Part 6

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the transcription of the nectarean class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.18.30. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj as to how we should be attached to Krishna. Maharaj was explaining about simple life.

Now we shall hear further.

7.  Be Simple, Austere and Clean:
Gurudev: Because of the water, inside our body, there are always some wounds. We always eat something and inside, the limbs are very delicate. There are always wounds inside and all these wounds are healed, because of the water. Water is the best antiseptic agent. If you have guts, then you put water on it and it will be alright. Water is the best antiseptic agent. So don’t use anything daily. But once in a week or twice in a week, as you feel, use chic peas flour to clean the body. And then you will see that your hairs will not untimely grey. You will feel very enthusiastic. The chic peas flour is a natural thing. Unless we come to simplicity to this extent, we will not have time to understand Krishna or to understand Srimad Bhagavatam. This is the first thing.

Then the second thing you have to do is that we should be very clean in the place wherein we are staying. The place does not matter may be it is just a small shed or hut or whatever it is. But it should be completely clean. You people are very young. Fortunately you have got the energy. Once you get old, you will not have energy at all. And you will require so much assistance. At the moment, you have the energy. So use your energy constructively rather than to fighting with each other and creating misunderstanding or drinking or cutting some animal and eating. This is rascaldom. Instead of that, make your place very clean.

Our Srila Prabhupada has his initials—what is his initial ? What was it? A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. AC are his initial. Abhaya Charan.- AC, But we don’t call him Abhaya Charan. What is the initial? "A" means austerity. "C" means cleanliness. He has taught us to be austere, to get up at 4'o clock in the morning - austere. He himself was getting up at 1'o clock. Austerity  - Then don’t eat meat, don't eat fish, don’t drink. don’t run after women. These are all austerity. He has taught us how to be austere. And austerity only will help you to understand Krishna. If you are not austere, then you will not understand anything. If you are austere, today I was very pleased that  6 O clock, you started at the correct time. This is austerity that once we fix our time, we start.

The temple hall is completely clean. That is austerity. As soon as you go away from here, these things has to be folded, they should be folded and kept nicely arranged. It is wrong thing that everything is lying on the table, something is lying here and there. No. Our temple rooms are completely clean and we have arranged. Nothing to be kept everywhere. No. Our houses also should be completely clean. Nothing should lie here and there. We must have a clean idea what we have and we should arrange them in order.

Krishna willing, we can hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Purna Prajna das
