Attach to Krishna and Be Peaceful - Part 8

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the transcription of the nectarean class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.18.30 in Marundera, Zimbabwe. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj as to how important it is to be organised. Now we shall hear further.

9. Lesser Needs Helps us to be Truthful:
Gurudev: You have to be austere, you have to be clean, so that you can be merciful, and you can be truthful. I am truthful because my needs are limited. I don’t require anything and that’s why I can be truthful. Otherwise if I require so many things, then I will take everything, because my needs are more. If your needs are less, then you don’t require. You know that you are not going to take anything. I like this table very much. But what can I do? I can’t take the table. I cannot take it. Even if I steal it from here, if Ashok (referring to host devotee) denies then if I steal it for example,  I cannot take it anywhere. There is no van. Again I have to request Ashok, "Hey I have to take the table. I need a van." (laughs) Then again I go to Johannesburg. Again there will be problem. Where to keep it? So I have to request somebody, "Hey, please..I have stolen the table. Please keep it." I cannot take the table. But the stealing, stealing has affected me. And it will force me to come back again to this planet and to give the table back to Ashok. This, we don’t know - the theory of karma. We may take something today. I may take the glass - but I will have to come back here. Again birth, again death, again disease, again old age. Why? why? why? We don’t want it. This is the Bhagavatam philosophy and this is the way to understand

You must have austerity, you must have cleanliness and must be merciful and you must be truthful and then you will be worshiped. Srila Prabhupada was worshipped. Why? Because he was austere. He did not wanted anything more. He had only 3 dollars. And see in 3 dollars, how many buildings are coming up? This is how lakshmi increases. But by our behaviour, we stop the progress. By our nasty behavior, we put ourselves in miserable condition. This is the main thing to be understood. And if we understand these things, then we can be austere, we can be very clean, we can be merciful and we can be very  truthful. And truthful people, austere people, clean people, merciful people are respected everywhere. Nobody respects the body. This body has no value at all. But the qualities of the body are respected. If we only speak about Krishna, we are worshipped.

(Encouraging the devotees in Marundera to preach Krishna consciousness Gurudev says) We want the people from here to talk about Krishna. We are waiting. Our Prabhupada told that in Africa, the Africans must take this philosophy. It is not our job. You people should learn and you people should go to your people and wake them up. They are all sleeping. That's why they are not clean, they are not merciful. Teach them to be merciful to every living entity.

Krishna willing, we can hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Purna Prajna das
