Pass on the Bhagavatam Tradition - Part 9

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the previous offering, "Pass on the Bhagavatam Tradition" wherein we were transcribing one of the nectarean Bhagavatam class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.3.11. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj about the  importance of  power of chastity

Now let us hear more from Gurudev.

8. Krishna is the Supreme Controller:
Gurudev: He has innumerable potencies. What is it? na tasya kāryaṁ kāraṇaṁ ca vidyate na tasya samaḥ adhikaś ca dṛśyate. His shakti, parāsya śaktir vividhaiva śrūyate svābhāvikī jñāna-bala-kriyā ca, (Śvetāśvatara Upaniṣad 6.8). This is His position. na tasya kāryaṁ kāraṇaṁ ca vidyate, there is nothing to be done by Him. And there is no reason for His actions. na tasya samaḥ adhikaś ca dṛśyate. na tasya samaḥ - there is nobody equal to Him, so how can anybody be more powerful than Him. vividhaiva shakti, vividhaiva śrūyate, His potencies are innumerable and they are all under His control and they work as one living entity. Just He has to order them that, "Go! And stop his heart". And he'll say, "Aye! why do you do that?" He'll say, " heart failure". We never see Him, Kṛṣṇa is the reason, why should He stop your heart? And why should He force my heart to run? It's up to Him. Nobody can question. svābhāvikī - by natural sequence all the potencies are working. And as soon as we realise this, we don't come in between His potential works. This is the janma karma ca me divyam (BG 4.9), as soon as you understand His potencies are divya, we have nothing to do with it. They are transcendental. divya, karma ca me divyam, evaṁ yo vetti tattvataḥ, by tattva the root of it, we have known, that is the transcendence. And as soon as you know this, then not only this incarnation but all, full of this chapter, this chapter is full of incarnations. All the incarnations we understand.

The root we have understood. His karma is divya. It's not like us. We are all limited in our capacity, because we are under His control. yad ishvara vasham jagat (SB 1.13.41), the whole universe, the whole universes are under His control. And as soon as we catch this thread of His supreme control then we don't have lamentation, we don't have any misery. Whatever happens, is His mercy. As soon as you see Him, bahūnāṁ janmanām ante jñānavān māṁ prapadyate (BG 7.19), this is jñānavān māṁ prapadyate, jñānavān people, those who have really obtained real knowledge, māṁ prapadyate, they obtain Me. How? You don't take Him and embrace Him. No! But you see Him everywhere. jñānavān māṁ prapadyate, vāsudevaḥ sarvam iti - everywhere you don't see anything else.

Krishna willing we shall continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offerings.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
