Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016 - Part 25

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the previous offering titled "Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016", wherein we were hearing some of the glorifications of Maharaj, which were shared by the devotees in Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav dham, Rajkot on the auspicious occasion of his Vyasa Puja. Hearing how Maharaj gave instructions to HG Savita mataji's brother in his dream, HG Devakinandan Prabhuji shared his thoughts and we shall hear the same now.

HG Devakinandan Prabhuji: "Just showing some interest to hear about a devotee, brings so much piety. Interest about a pure devotee, inquiring about the nature and activities of pure devotee, pleases the Supreme Lord. Because any devotee who becomes interested about the glories of the pure devotee, Krishna favours him. Maharaj told me that we get favoured by the Supreme Lord, when we become inquisitive to know about a pure devotee. Maharaj said that the proof is Prabhupada. Those of us who became interested to understand about Prabhupada, Prabhupada favoured us and that is how took to devotional service. And we can see this in Maharaj also. How he still comes in people's dreams, he is encouraging them. We all heard Anand sagar Prabhuji's offering today about how Maharaj showed him Yamaraj. Anand sagar Prabhuji sings very sweetly, is attracted to shlokas, very serious about devotional service and so when he was in difficulty, actually it turned into an opportunity to increase his devotional service. So we should never feel discouraged.

After Maharaj has left our physical vision, if we are in difficulty, turn the difficulty into opportunity. When we don't turn the difficulty into opportunity to increase our bhakti, then we lose the connection with Maharaj. What appears to be an adversity, we should turn it into an opportunity. Maharaj's whole life was like this. Every adversity Maharaj faced in his life, from the day when Maharaj was a child, because Maharaj's father left the world very early in life, so mother was there and such a big family, Maharaj had to maintain. Maharaj had to take tuitions and also he had to study. Maharaj said how he had to swim across the Godavari river, just to take tuition in the other side. He will swim with his dhoti and kurta and have a bundle on his head and somehow or other he will float across the river with it. He said that some days he was lucky because Godavari will be very low and he will be able to just walk across it. But those of us who have seen Godavari will know that it was not a short distance at all. Maharaj was a great swimmer. Not only was he a great swimmer, he was the first one to own a bicycle in his village. Why? Because he had to give tuitions and Maharaj said that the place where he had to give tuitions was 15-20 miles away. Maharaj said that luckily it didn't consume petrol, otherwise whatever he earned, would have been used up for petrol. So Maharaj had very hard life. But in all the hard life, he saw Krishna in everyone."

Krishna willing, we shall continue to hear further glories of Maharaj in the subsequent offering.
