Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016 - Part 28

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the previous offering titled "Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016", wherein we were hearing some of the glorifications of Maharaj, which were shared by the devotees in Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav dham, Rajkot on the auspicious occasion of his Vyasa Puja. We shall continue to hear further.

HG Devakinandan Prabhuji: "One devotee, who was once a temple president for one of the temples in US shared with us about an interesting exchange which he had with Maharaj many years ago when Maharaj had visited the temple for the first time. So once he arranged for Maharaj to meet the congregation for the first time. So before the meeting he began to explain to Maharaj - "Maharaj, They are all new people. So I need to tell you the background of the people whom you are going to meet." And he began to say about the different groups of people. But it seems Maharaj just cut him off and said, "Your job is to just put me on the Vyasāsan, my job is beginning now and yours is ended. You don't have to tell me as to what section are these people belonging to and who is who. Leave me to do my job and you just sit quiet." That devotee told me that he had never ever heard anyone speak like that to him before, putting him back in place. So he just remained quiet and observed as to how Maharaj delivered the whole lecture. And he could see how Maharaj pitched his lecture in such a manner that every aspect of the audience was fully satisfied.

That devotee also told me how Maharaj was very uncompromising in truth. It didn't matter to Maharaj as to where he was or to whom he was speaking, be it a big donor or penniless person. He just fires when he saw anyone doing mistake. Maharaj was never begging for money. In Dwaraka there was nothing to start with. HG Taral Vilocahana Prabhu, the first disciple of Maharaj from Belgium, he travelled with Maharaj for four to five years continuously shared me nice incident as to how when he met Maharaj, Maharaj told him - "Come to Dwaraka and we will read Bhagavatam for 24 hours." The moment they arrived in Dwaraka Maharaj said, "Now we need a big building to glorify Krishna." And Taral prabhu said, "What happened to the idea of sitting down and reading Bhagavatam like babajis?" Maharaj said, "That was told so that you will travel with me." (laughter) Taral prabhu said,"You have cheated me." He kept saying like this for four or five years - "Maharaj cheated me." Then I asked him, "Then why are you continuing?" Taral Prabhuji said, "Because I like to be cheated by Maharaj." With Maharaj even if we are getting cheated, it is very very sweet. It is very very sweet."

Krishna willing, we shall continue to hear further glories of Maharaj in the subsequent offering.
