Glorify Krishna - Part 6

30th Oct 2021
Krishna Rati devi dasi

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev.

This is in continuation of the transcription of the nectarean class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 10.1.4. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj

1. Practise before you preach.
2. Be sincere worker and not shirker.
3. Krishna is the source of maintenance.
4. Give up grabbing tendency
5. Glorify Krishna.

Now we shall hear further.

Gurudev:  (Quoting Srimad Bhagavatam 6.1.42 verse Maharaj continued)

sūryo ’gniḥ khaṁ marud devaḥ somaḥ sandhyāhanī diśaḥ
kaṁ kuḥ svayaṁ dharma iti hy ete daihyasya sākṣiṇaḥ

Ahni,  day and night and disha. And then? kham, kuhu, kham means water, khu means land. The ocean is also watching, water is also watching us, land is watching us. How are you going to sell, save ourselves? These twelve CID'S are continuously after you. Demigods are again there. Please these twelve things are after us. How can you save yourselves? svayam dharma, Supersoul is there again. Supersoul is there, Yamarāja, he knows what idea is coming in your mind. That also he knows. And that's why we are all having Kṛṣṇa in us. So I see your face and I know what is going on. You see my face and you can know what is going on. Without telling each other we know.

Please save yourself from these artifical attachments. You should be like children you know. These children are innocent. Innocence only will take you to devotional service. As soon as you follow any other path devotional service vanishes. Kṛṣṇa is gone. You may have murtis but if your behaviour is not alright Kṛṣṇa is gone., Hare Rām! So have you followed the first line? (Maharaj then asked devotees to sing 10.1.4)

 nivṛtta-tarṣair upagīyamānād
bhavauṣadhāc chrotra-mano-’bhirāmāt
ka uttamaśloka-guṇānuvādāt
pumān virajyeta vinā paśughnāt

This first line we saw that as soon as we are retired from these material activities, then only we can glorify Krishna. But that has to be interpreted according to our own circumstances. Otherwise people will lose faith in Bhagavatam also. As it is, we cannot put into practice. So it has to be translated. And this is our duty you know. As it is this line we cannot put into practice. So we have to translate it into our circumstances. Otherwise people will lose faith in Bhagavatam. They don't understand. Here the clear meaning is that you have to completely detach from the material activities and then only upagīyamānād, those who are exhausted materially, they only can sing the glories. How to interpret to our circumstances, that is our realisation. Otherwise it would be impractical and impractical things we lose faith in it. So it should be practical.

Krishna willing we shall continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Krishna Rati devi dasi
