Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016 - Part 32

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in conclusion of the previous offering titled "Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016", wherein we were hearing some of the glorifications of Maharaj, which were shared by the devotees in Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav dham, Rajkot on the auspicious occasion of his Vyasa Puja. We shall continue to hear further.

Anil Prabhuji: I was in Rajkot since 2007, but somehow whenever I used to see the temple from outside, I never got inspiration to enter. Slowly when I started reading Gujarati letters, I could understand that Hare Krishna Mahamantra is written in the walls of the temple. Since I was from Orissa, we used to do Hare Krishna kirtan in our villages and after few years when I visited the temple and saw Sri Jagannathji, I became very happy. Then I began to visit the temple regularly on Sundays. I loved the kirtans and by Maharaj's mercy got the opportunity to serve. And whenever I had some problems, I have experienced that when I come and pray to Maharaj in his samadhi, I could feel Maharaj's presence and his directions. I really miss for not having visited the temple when Maharaj was physically present here. My life would have become completely perfect, had I got the opportunity to meet Maharaj in person even once. But I am happy that I am at least fortunate to hear about Maharaj from other devotees and listen to Maharaj's class.

Subash Prabhuji: I have heard Maharaj's disciple say as to how their life changed completely after meeting Maharaj. I could not meet Maharaj in person, but simply by hearing his instructions in his lectures, I could feel how much difference Maharaj brings in our lives. In one of his classes I heard Maharaj giving an example of a person who was working day and night to earn more money. My lifestyle was matching the example which Maharaj was giving in class. No matter how much we struggle, there is no satisfaction at home and family members are always quarreling. Maharaj was telling further that the person who was over endeavoring for material advancement by doing night shifts, had an untimely death. So Maharaj was telling instead of over endeavoring for material advancements which give frustration and death, if that person had worked for pleasure of Krishna, how much reciprocation he would have got from Krishna, how much blissful his life would have been! So this statement of Maharaj really struck me and from that day my attraction for Maharaj and service to Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav began to increase. Then slowly I started getting taste for reading Bhagavatam and hearing about Krishna.

I have studied only up to class VIII. So my English is not so good. But Prasannatma Prabhuji used to say that whoever comes to ISKCON, simply by reading Srila Prabhupada's books and hearing about Krishna, English becomes a by-product. So when HG Devakinandan Prabhuji gave a class on Sudama in English, during his visits to Rajkot, I was able to understand and was very much inspired by his class. Although we knew the story about Krishna and Sudama, I liked the way how Prabhuji enjoyed and explained the pastime of Krishna and was inspired by his love to serve Maharaj, his surrender to Maharaj. I could understand that whatever happiness and bliss we get from devotional service and hearing about Krishna from pure devotees, we cannot get from any other source of material happiness in this world - be it film or gold or wealth etc. I also like the point which HG Devakinandan Prabhuji mentioned that come what may, we should never leave the ship of devotional service. If we are in this ship, then it definitely take us back to Goloka.

HG Vaishnavseva Prabhuji many times used to say, "It is very fortunate thing to be in ISKCON and more fortunate are we to be in shelter of Maharaj." Once when there was lot of tensions at home, I decided to hear Maharaj's class and as soon as I began to hear Maharaj all tensions vanished because Maharaj's class was filled with practical instructions with nice tinge of humour. Then I became very enthusiastic. Whenever my taste for waking up for mangala-arati goes down or whenever I am bit low in spirits, I come and pray to Maharaj and by his mercy I regain my enthusiasm. Jai Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj ki Jai!"

Our heartfelt thanks to all the devotees for the nice glorifications which they shared about Maharaj and to Srila Gurudeva for his causeless mercy and eternally sublime, practical and glorious teachings and directions.

Hare Krishna.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Sudarshana devi dasi.
