Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.
This is in continuation of the transcription of one of the nectarean discussion by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj in Auckland on 15th July 2003. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj that.
1. Prabhupada helps us to realise our true ego that we are servants of Krishna.
Now we shall hear further.
Maharaj: As soon as the impersonalism, we come out of it, then we are attracted to a person. And person means we can meditate on. We have seen Krishna in the form of Murti, so we can very easily meditate. Otherwise in meditation centre, they say now you start meditating. So they close their eyes, and whatever is dear to them they think about it, because there is no object for meditation. So, in this way our conditioning is there. That because we cannot imagine, it is inconceivable to think about the Supreme Lord and that’s why by this propaganda, we are attracted. It is very easy to go to the meditation centre, close your eyes and you meditate. So from all this conditioning, we have to come out. That should be our lookout.
And then again there is another conditioning that we take it for granted what is not true. That is known as illusion. That is the biggest conditioning we have. We think that my house is going to be permanently there, we think that the living entity with whom we are staying, we are going to be there all the time together. Then we think that whatever bank balance I have is going to be there for all the time. It is again conditioning. And because of this false conditioning, our direction of life goes wrong. This does not mean that we should not own the house, or we should not be with the family, or the family members, it is nothing like that. But we should try to understand the reality. The reality is, according to Srimad Bhagavatam, these people are coming together for a temporary time. According to Krishna’s arrangement, this whole crowd is here. Now we are here, after one hour, we will disperse. Don’t know whether we are going to see each other again or not. Every second of our existence we have to depend upon the mercy of Krishna. And we may take it for granted and we may plan for 10-20 years, and nothing works from our plans.
Unless He sanctions the plans, our plans don’t work. He is the superintendent; it is a nice word. “Intend” means I intend to do it. We intended to come to New Zealand. And we tried hard to work for that. But our intentions only could be fulfilled when He super-intends. That we forget. And we falsely put ourselves in between. Then I may claim that I wanted to come to Auckland, I am here. We completely ignored the fact – reality ignored; and this is ignorance. As soon as I come to reality, then I see the real thing. That I give credit to Krishna, and really it is so. Who knows that even coming from Hawaii to Auckland, we are at His mercy really. The plane is in the air, all around is unlimited mass of water. There is no land down. And even if the land is there, even then we can’t survive. Something goes wrong and never know really where are we, which part of the Pacific Ocean we are. We are so tiny fellow, within a second, we can go off. It is only Krishna’s mercy that the whole steel or iron or whatever it is, it works. Otherwise, who sanctions? Then if it touches according to our expectations, we should thank Him really. Instead of that we thank the airlines, or we thank everybody except Krishna. This is our ignorance.
And as soon as this ignorance is removed, then the reality is in front of us. And this reality when we put into practice, it is known as real-isation. Realisation is nothing very difficult. Those people who are realised, they don’t have horns on their head.
Krishna willing we shall hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.
