Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.
This is in continuation of the transcription of one of the nectarean discussion by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj in Auckland on 15th July 2003. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj that.
1. Prabhupada helps us to realise our true ego that we are servants of Krishna.
2. Unless Krishna sanctions our plans won't work.
3. We thank everyone except Krishna. That is our ignorance.
4. To the degree we forget Krishna’s names, to that degree only we are miserable. And if you want to reduce the misery, this is the only effective medicine.
5. Surdas by his personal example has taught us that glorification is only for Krishna.
6. As soon as we are released from these prescribed duties, we straight away go to Bhagavad Gita or Bhagavatam, chanting or whatever just like calf rushing towards cow
Maharaj: (Continuing to explain Surdas bhajan on how only Krishna is our sole object of glorofication, Maharaj says) And those people (who) unnecessarily create disturbance, they should be dealt with very hard. We don’t want to distract our attention from this hrdaya te vaha madana murati. Please, please remember this. This is our straight line. Anybody comes in between us to cut this, we don’t want to associate with them. Our things are completely clear cut. Those who are interested in devotional service they come here, sit here, chant with us. Those who are not interested, these letters and counter letters and answers and this and that, we are not interested at all. Anything which is not to our chanting, hrdaya te vaha madana murati, in our heart there is only one Madan Murati chinna itavata jaati. (Referring to some person who was distracted in the class Maharaj said) For even one moment they were not here. That person was sitting here, but I saw that mind is not here)
Please this is our condition, if you follow this straight line, nobody will have any effect on you. They come to our group, they chant, they read Bhagavatam, they hear Bhagavad Gita, they want to speak Bhagavad Gita, they are welcome. But this is the only limit. We don’t want to go here and there. Enough of it – distraction we had. So please come to this Surdas, that’s why this bhajan is very important. nahin rahiyo man me ṭhoul nandanandana achata kaiyse uru me aniye aur
He very clearly says. And this is ignorant Surdas. He was not PhD, or he was not CA (laughter) - Chartered Accountant. He was not engineer, he was not a doctor, but he could understand this. (In life so many things) will try to distract your attention, please just join hands and forget about it. Those who are not interested in this, we are not interested in any other things. Our clear-cut line is here, we are very clear, very clear. Is it very difficult to understand this? When an ignorant man like Surdas who was blind by birth, he understands these things, with all the four eyes we can’t understand? Please, with six eyes or eight eyes maybe, patni (wife) also have spectacles, we also have spectacles, so we have eight eyes. And then even with eight eyes we can’t see, what is it? You have four eyes and this man no eyes and he can see very clearly. Please, please, this is our culture. This modern world will distract you from this. No doubt about it. They will try to distract.
(Referring to some person who could not sit in class) With all due respect to that lady, she is quite alright. She cannot control her own sons even. The son is moving like a monkey here and there. It is her duty to stop him, she must be very hard with him. Don’t pamper the sons in this way. They will be spoiled. They should be disciplined. You know, GOOD KIDS, good kids you remember this, good means "G double O, D". G means good, O means orderly then O means obedient, and D means disciplined. We love our kids, but discipline please. They must be within our eyes. Otherwise, they will take over the whole thing and maybe nonsense. This is “GOOD”. And “KIDS” K means kids, I means in this, D means divine and S means school. “Kids in this divine school, they are good, orderly, obedient and disciplined”. This must be the kids. Please remember so that we are not distracted in this.
Krishna willing we shall hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.
Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva
