Power of Vedic Vibrations - Part 8

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the transcription one of the nectarean Bhagavad Gita class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj in Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav dham, Rajkot on September 28 2007 on BG 2.51. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj that we should not delay the study of scriptures.

Now we shall hear further.

(Continuing to read from the purport of 2.61) Owing to ignorance, one does not know that this material world is a miserable place where there are dangers at every step. Out of ignorance only, less intelligent persons try to adjust to the situation by fruitive activities, thinking that the resultant actions will make them happy. They do not know that no kind of material body anywhere within the universe can give life without miseries. The miseries of life, namely birth, death, old age and diseases, are present everywhere within the material world. But one who understands his real constitutional position as the eternal servitor of the Lord, and thus knows the position of the Personality of Godhead, engages himself in the transcendental loving service of the Lord. Consequently he becomes qualified to enter into the Vaikuṇṭha planets, where there is neither material, miserable life nor the influence of time and death. To know one’s constitutional position means to know also the sublime position of the Lord. One who wrongly thinks that the living entity’s position and the Lord’s position are on the same level is to be understood to be in darkness and therefore unable to engage himself in the devotional service of the Lord. He becomes a lord himself and thus paves the way for the repetition of birth and death. But one who, understanding that his position is to serve, transfers himself to the service of the Lord, at once becomes eligible for Vaikuṇṭha-loka. Service for the cause of the Lord is called karma-yoga or buddhi-yoga, or in plain words, devotional service to the Lord.

Maharaj: Jai Srila Prabhupada Ki Jai! Please nicely repeat it, there are so many things to be told, we are controlled by the time, you have to take prasadam also. Have you got any questions? One or two questions we can entertain. We may not see each other again. Or if you have time, anytime you are please welcome here. But our message is very clear. If you stick to Prabhupada’s books, you will never go wrong. If you leave those books, then you will do all wrong. Choice is yours. Yes, you have any question? Have you.

Devotee: Maharaj, you were talking about working and giving up the results, can you give us more..because most of the devotees are working.

Maharaj: This is our problem you know. Ideally Rupa Goswami gives us the formula that 50 percent of our earnings must be donated to the cause, if you are not able to do yourself. But I will tell you practically, that 50 percent many times is not possible because of our responsibilities, and so many things now. Because the tax pattern in our country is so very high that it is very difficult to get net payment in our hand. And after getting the payment also, anything you buy, you are paying the tax. So, tax pattern is very high. I am sorry for this. The Kingship was best. That one family was a king. So how much one family will spend. These Kauravas particularly, Pandavas and Kauravas, they were the Kings. But they had Kurukshetra, kshetra means field. They had their own field known as Kurukshetra. And they were tilling the land and whatever they get from the land they were maintaining themselves and whatever remaining they will donate to the taxpayer’s money. They will not spend anything from the general treasury. That was the ideal case

Krishna willing we shall hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Dinavatsal Krishna das
