Sanity will Give us Satisfaction - Part 10

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the transcription of one of the nectarean class given by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Bhagavad Gita verse 3.36 in Sri Sri Radha NeelMadhav dham Rajkot on 10th May 2009. In the previous offering we heard from Maharaj that, "money is bound to go away. So, better we calculate and part of it must go for Krishna. According to our understanding, if you can donate, donate. If you can’t donate, then use yourself."

Now let us hear further.

Maharaj: Money is bound to go away money will never remain. So better saintly you think about these. And till we can, we should distribute. Otherwise, end of the day when you are on the death bed, money will be there, houses will be there, but you will not be able to do anything about it. Krishna says that mṛtyuḥ sarva-haraś cāham (BG 10.34), thinking all these things, we should reduce the rajo gun and come to this living. At least mode of goodness.

(Maharaj discussing to find out a verse in 10h Canto (10.52.33)- viprān sva-lābha-santuṣṭān, viprān sva-lābha-santuṣṭān, what is that? No, No. Those 3 verses that we had done. Where in Krishna says that I bow down, viprān sva-lābha-santuṣṭān. You don’t remember, you must have somewhere.)

The thing is, Krishna gives in 10th canto Krishna says that, "behind such a living entity, to such a living entity, I again and again bow down Myself." And in the first line He says that those who are satisfied with whatever is providentially provided, (Maharaj explain in Hindi). Our honest endeavour is always there, to increase our economic standard. I was also a very ordinary man, but I was always eager that I am ready to work hard and even then, why am I poor? So, the honest endeavours were there on the other side, but satisfaction was there. viprān sva-lābha-santuṣṭān.

And then, this honest endeavour, may give you result or may not give you the result. But we are satisfied that I am doing honest endeavours. This is how.

Daily work we got to do. Day to day work very expertly we have to do. And regarding fruits, again we have to be very sane about it. Sanity will give us satisfaction. Otherwise, always we will be agitated. And agitation is very bad for our health also. So, this Bhagavad Gita principles, must be studied and put into practice. Particularly this verse. This kāma is the main disturbance. Lusty desires are the main disturbances in our life. In the married life also, we should have controlled sex life. Otherwise, she will run away. Control must be there, that is the thing. In eating we must be controlled. In clothing ourselves, we must be in control. In enjoying also control. But regarding Krishna we should go on uncontrolled. And we have to do unlimited Bhagavad Gita we should do, unlimited Bhagavatam we should do. These are the things. Unless you follow these things, Krishna will never be pleased. And if you are that serious about studying Bhagavad Gita then, it is very easy for you to remember this with the help of Prabhupada. Prabhupada has given very nice equivalence, so if you understand the words, you will easily remember.

Devotee: The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: It is lust only, Arjuna, which is born of contact with the material mode of passion and later transformed into wrath, and which is the all-devouring sinful enemy of this world.

Krishna willing we shall hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offerings.

Thank you very much.
