Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016 - Part 6

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva

This is in continuation of the previous offering titled "Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016", wherein we were hearing some of the glorifications of Maharaj, which were shared by the students of Sri Prahlad International School in Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav dham, Rajkot on the auspicious occasion of his Vyasa Puja. Now we shall hear the offerings done by other devotees.  

1) HG Anand Sagar Prabhuji from Trivandrum (Prabhuji gave this offering in Malayalam): "Hare Krishna Maharaj. We all get different gifts in my life. In that way, I can feel that I have got two gifts in my life. First gift is that Lord Krishna has blessed me such a wonderful spiritual master like H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj. Secondly, Maharaj has gifted me my own life. 

In 2013, I was suffering from severe fever and breathing problems. As a result, I was hospitalized for 20 to 25 days. And out of that four days I was in ICU. Maharaj always used to talk about the meaning of "ICU". "ICU" means Yamaraj is saying "I See You". I understood the actual meaning of that when I was in ICU. At that time, when I was sleeping in ICU, I got a wonderful darshan of Maharaj. Maharaj chanted one shloka from Srimad Bhagavatam for me. Although I was in touch with devotees and hearing to shlokas recited by devotees in the past, it did not touch my heart in the same way as it did when I heard it from Maharaj directly. From that day onwards I was very inspired to take to study of Srimad Bhagavatam very seriously. Because of Maharaj's mercy, I got the taste for chanting Mahamantra, reciting shlokas, attend Mangala arati, and study Bhagavad Gita and Bhagavatam. I do all this out of fear of Maharaj and not out of love for him. All devotees do these services out of love for Maharaj, but I do it out of fear because Maharaj showed me Yamaraj on that day and that experience was fearful. Maharaj gave me direct darshan of Yamaraj and had given me the shloka 6.3.29 from Srimad Bhagavatam. Those were the days when the doctors had given up all hope and had told my mother to inform all relatives, that I will not be able to survive. I came to know about all this afterwards my mother told. After Maharaj's darshan, miraculously I started recovering and the doctors were also surprised.

Today when HG Devakinandan Prabhuji had informed me in the morning that I should do the offering, I didn't know what to speak and when I met HG Sajjanpriya Prabhuji, he told me that Maharaj is always anxious to hear how his disciples are chanting, how they are studying Bhagavatam - irrespective of whichever planet he is. Maharaj is always anxious about us. So I shall recite the shloka which Maharaj gave me on that day now. Sb 6.3.29:

jihvā na vakti bhagavad-guṇa-nāmadheyaṁ
cetaś ca na smarati tac-caraṇāravindam
kṛṣṇāya no namati yac-chira ekadāpi
tān ānayadhvam asato ’kṛta-viṣṇu-kṛtyān

My dear servants, please bring to me only those sinful persons who do not use their tongues to chant the holy name and qualities of Krishna, whose hearts do not remember the lotus feet of Krishna even once, and whose heads do not bow down even once before Lord Krishna. Send me those who do not perform their duties toward Vishnu, which are the only duties in human life. Please bring me all such fools and rascals.

Maharaj has gifted me life, gift of initiation, gift of Bhagavatam, and also the gift of association of very nice devotees. Maharaj had asked us to study English and Malayalam Bhagavatam side by side so that we can improve in English and later take class in both languages. But till date, I have fear of Maharaj, that though I am trying to study Bhagavatam with both the English and Malayalam books, still I am not yet fluent in English. On this auspicious day, I would like to promise you, Maharaj, that by next year, Krishna willing, by Maharaj's mercy, I will be able to do this offering in English. Happy Birthday to You Maharaj. H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj ki Jai!"

Krishna willing we shall continue to hear further glories in the subsequent offering.
