Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.
This is in continuation of the previous offering titled "Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016", wherein we were hearing some of the glorifications of Maharaj, which were shared by the devotees in Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav dham, Rajkot on the auspicious occasion of his Vyasa Puja. Now we shall hear further.
HG Sadashiv Krishna Prabhuji from Abu Dhabi: The student (Shrey Sangani) from Sri Prahlad International School very nicely mentioned that how apart from interest, we must have commitment in devotional service. Why should we have commitment in devotional service? In Srimad Bhagavatam verse, the Supreme Lord Varaha in response to the cruel words of Hiranyaksha says in verse 3.18.12:
tvaṁ pad-rathānāṁ kila yūthapādhipo
ghaṭasva no ’svastaya āśv anūhaḥ
saṁsthāpya cāsmān pramṛjāśru svakānāṁ
yaḥ svāṁ pratijñāṁ nātipiparty asabhyaḥ
You are supposed to be the commander of many foot soldiers, and now you may take prompt steps to overthrow Us. Give up all your foolish talk and wipe out the cares of your kith and kin by slaying Us. One may be proud, yet he does not deserve a seat in an assembly if he fails to fulfill his promised word.
The last line in the above verse is worth meditating. In this verse the word 'pratijnā' means promise. At the time of initiation we all have promised Maharaj. What is that promise? To be obedient to Maharaj. So we should remain committed to him by engaging in sincere devotional service. We try to be committed to kith and kin. But somehow we ignore the promise given to Maharaj. If we don't keep up the promise given to Maharaj, then we will not get seat in the assembly of devotees both in this world and in the spiritual world. So we pray that we always remain obedient to Maharaj. H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj ki Jai!
Krishna willing we shall continue to hear further glories of Maharaj in the subsequent offering.
Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Sudarshana devi dasi.
