Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016 - Part 18

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the previous offering titled "Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Vyasa Puja 2016", wherein we were hearing some of the glorification of Maharaj, which were shared by the devotees in Sri Sri Radha Neel Madhav dham, Rajkot on the auspicious occasion of his Vyasa Puja. Now we shall hear further.

HG Kalacakra Krishna Prabhuji: I was listening to one of the verse which Maharaj likes and he has quoted this in his diary. It is a Hindi proverb which gives the definition of Guru and disciple.

guru ko aisā chāhiye siśyan se na leth
siśyan ko aisā chāhiye guru ko sarvasva deth

The meaning is that the guru should be such that he will never take anything from his disciple. And disciple should be such that he should offer everything to his guru. So when I see the relationship, Maharaj has always been living as per the first line. He has never taken anything from us. But if I have to introspect myself on the point of shisya I can say that I have not given everything to Maharaj. Maharaj used to call this as 'calculative magnanimity'. We calculate before we take the Lakshmi out of the pocket, how much to give. So I was just thinking that I must actually see the number of days of Vyasa Puja I could attend so that I will realize the urgency and give to Maharaj pretty much everything. Of course, I have given a post-dated verbal cheque to Devaki Prabhu, but Maharaj will tell, "Man, who wants your post-dated cheque? I want it now. You will go away. But the temple has to be built." (laughter).

Before I close, I want to thank Devakinandan Prabhuji, Vaishnav Seva Prabhuji, and all the wonderful devotees who have been working so hard for making this Vyasa Puja a success. I really I was pained - this is from my heart and I am telling you, when the program was going on here last year, I was in UK. It was Mangala arati time there. In my heart, I was mentally present in Rajkot. And it was very painful that we missed to hear the glorification of Maharaj that was going on here in Rajkot. But Maharaj actually understood the pain of each devotee. So Maharaj gave a boon to us understanding our pain. The same pillar where Maharaj was sitting and studying, (the pillar in Sri Sri Radha Londonishvara temple, London), I could sit there and chant all my sixteen rounds and chant the entire first canto of Srimad Bhagavatam - I was so pleased that even in that separation, I could get Maharaj's association. Even this year there were many devotees who desperately wanted to be here in Rajkot for the celebrations, but could not make it due to various challenges. But wherever they are, they are remembering Maharaj and glorifying him. And I am sure that Maharaj is pleased with all of them. Hare Krishna. Srila Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj Gurudev ki Jai !"

Krishna willing, we shall continue to hear further glories of Maharaj in the subsequent offering.
