Lord Ramachandra's Supreme Mercy

Dear Vaishnavas,
Hare Krishna. Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

We are always after easy solutions for all our problems. Even our anarthas, our shortcomings etc, we like them to go away with very little effort from ourselves. We want easy money. We want all our work to be done easily without much effort from ourselves. We apply the same principle when it comes to devotional service. We want the Lord to do everything for us even though we very well know that we do not have even the least bit of qualification to deserve His mercy.

Actually speaking, the Supreme Lord has already made it very easy for us by giving us this process of devotional service. In fact this is so easy that even beasts and birds can perform the devotional service. We have the examples of Gajendra, Garuda etc in the shastras as proof.

On the occasion of the auspicious appearance day of Lord Ramachandra Bhagavan, we can remember a beautiful verse spoken by Hanuman glorifying the Lord along similar lines.

He says (SB 5.19.8),

suro ’suro vāpy atha vānaro naraḥ
sarvātmanā yaḥ sukṛtajñam uttamam
bhajeta rāmaṁ manujākṛtiṁ hariṁ
ya uttarān anayat kosalān divam iti

Therefore, whether one is a demigod or a demon, a man or a creature other than man, such as a beast or bird, everyone should worship Lord Rāmacandra, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who appears on this earth just like a human being. There is no need of great austerities or penances to worship the Lord, for He accepts even a small service offered by His devotee. Thus He is satisfied, and as soon as He is satisfied, the devotee is successful. Indeed, Lord Śrī Rāmacandra brought all the devotees of Ayodhyā back home, back to Godhead [Vaikuṇṭha].

Who can find a Lord and Master who is feeling grateful for the insignificant, half-hearted, motivated service we do in the name of devotion? Therefore, let us pray sincerely unto the all-merciful Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Ramachandraji and attain His mercy.

Lord Sri Ramachandra Bhagavan ki jai! Rama navami Mahotsava ki Jai!!

Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Kalacakra Krsna das.
