Not Hearing Krishna, we will be Lost!

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my dandavat pranams. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev.

Lord Krishna in Bhagavad-Gita verse 18.58, gives a very powerful instruction to us.

mac-cittaḥ sarva-durgāṇi mat-prasādāt tariṣyasi
atha cet tvam ahaṅkārān na śroṣyasi vinaṅkṣyasi

If you become conscious of me, you will pass over all the obstacles of conditioned life by my grace. If however you do not work in such consciousness but act through false ego, not hearing me, you will be lost.

We have undergone millions of cycle of birth and death. Throughout this period, we have given very less respect for this powerful statement of Lord Krishna. There are 84 lakh types of material bodies and the soul gets human body after entering so many different types of bodies. Once he gets a human form of life, not only Supreme Lord but also other demigods like, Yama closely watches him. Since we commit lot of sinful activities in human form of life, we are pushed in to other lower form of life. So we have got to be extra cautious in this human form of life.

We face so many types of miseries in life - either at home or at work. In certain situations, the problems might be so overwhelming that we might feel very dejected and discouraged. None of our friends, relatives or well-wishers would be able to save us from such troubles. No one else would be able to share the burden. We might not know what is to be done and what not to be. Srila Prabhupada in his purport, has very nicely said, " No conditioned soul actually knows what is to be done and what is not to be done, but a person who acts in Krishna consciousness is free to act because everything is prompted by Krishna from within and confirmed by the spiritual master." In the above verse, like a loving father who assures protection to a child, our Supreme Father Krishna is assuring us that, if we become conscious of Him and abide by His words, then by His grace, we would be able to overcome any kind of trouble. Krishna has also explicitly warned us in the above verse that we are sure to be lost if we fail to hear His words.

We should take His words seriously and save ourselves from being lost.
