Krishna Takes Care of Those Who Chant His Names

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances! All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudev!

I came across a writing of my spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj which had the translation of a verse from Varaha purana. It was written on an envelope together with the names of the devotees being initiated in Singapore on the 1st of Jan 2001, which also coincided with his Vyasa Puja.

Upon reading it, I was overwhelmed by the purity of his purpose and his depth of realization. I am very very fortunate to be in his association and must always pray to follow his instructions, no matter how weak and fallen I am. This verse is from Hari Bhakti Vilasa, 17.70-71, Varaha Purana.

yas tu bhāgavato bhūtvā  na gṛhṇāti gaṇitrikām
āsurī tasya dīkṣā tu na sā dharmāya vidyate
gaṇitrikāṁ gṛhītvā yo mantraṁ cintayate budhaḥ
janmāntara-sahasrāṇi cintito ’haṁ ca tena vai

Maharaj had written the translation for the verse during his initiation lecture as follows:

After becoming a devotee or engaging in devotional service to the Lord, if one does not accept a japa-mala, his initiation is considered to be demoniac. This kind of initiation is not very beneficial for religious principles. If one chants on his beads properly, then the Supreme Personality of Godhead remembers this intelligent devotee for thousands of births and rewards the devotee spiritual perfection.

Your servant,
Devakinandan das
