Effects of Glorifying Supreme Lord - Part 2

Hare Krishna Prabhujis and Matajis,
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva.

This is in continuation of the previous topic "Effects of Glorifying Supreme Lord", wherein we were meditating on verse 1.6.33 of Srimad Bhagavatam. By causeless mercy of Guru and Krishna, today we came across a lecture given by our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on the same verse in New Zealand in 1992. So we shall try to hear the nectar from Maharaj on this verse.

Maharaj: It is beautiful verse. (Maharaj relished reading the purport to Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.6.33). "The Absolute Personality of Godhead is not different from His transcendental name, form, pastimes and the sound vibrations thereof." - This sound vibration is very important. (Maharaj then soulfully chanted Mahamantra) This is vibration and Srila Prabhupada has very nicely said here that, "As soon as a pure devotee engages himself in the pure devotional service of hearing, chanting and remembering the name, fame and activities of the Lord, at once He becomes visible to the transcendental eyes of the pure devotee by reflecting Himself on the mirror of the heart by spiritual television." It is so nice. Not a single word in this line can be omitted. Then His Divine Grace very nicely explains in the remaining part of the purport that it is not only that Lord is reflected in the heart and that is why Narada Muni is chanting, but the vibrations are non-different from the Lord. That is the beauty of these vibrations.

Where are we going to search for Krishna? He is here, being non-different from His activities, name, fame etc., He is very much present in front of us. But as soon as we try to cover ourselves, then we will not be able to go to Krishna. This is the main thing to be understood. The main thing is that we block the free movement of Krishna in our body. We always do that. We always go against the transcendental instructions given by Him in the form of 4 regulative principles and even in the blocking of the living force in our own body, we take pride in it. "I am blocking the living force!" I don't know why should we be proud of those things which are destroying our own existence? And as soon as pride enters, Krishna disappears from our transcendental eyes. And as soon as He disappears, Maya is waiting, illusory energy of the Lord, she is waiting. As soon as Krishna disappears, Maya enters and we become more proud. And then it is the royal road to go to hell. It is like the highway that takes you to centre of the city. As soon as you are on the highway, you just have to press the accelerator and you go boom to hell. And this is not just going to hell, but you get rotten in hell through 8 million four hundred thousand species. Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita verse 16.19:

tān ahaṁ dviṣataḥ krūrān saṁsāreṣu narādhamān
kṣipāmy ajasram aśubhān āsurīṣv eva yoniṣu

Those who are envious and mischievous, who are the lowest among men, I perpetually cast into the ocean of material existence, into various demoniac species of life.

Krishna willing we shall continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj in the subsequent offering.

Hare Krishna.
Thank you very much.
Yours in service of Srila Prabhupada and Srila Gurudeva,
Sudarshana devi dasi.
