Re: Hitopadesa

Hari Bol Prabhujis & Matajis,
Please Accept my humble obeisances. All Glories to Srila Gurudev & Srila Prabhupada.

Such a nice instruction Radha Jivan Prabhuji has gave:

"Just as lamp in the hand of a blind man cannot help him see, so scriptural instruction yields no fruit for he who does not act on it with determination."

This is affirmed by Bhagavad Gita as our vedic system of enlightenment.  Krsna in BG 9.2 says 'jnanam vijnanam-sahitam' - Only 'jnana' - knowledge is not enough. It has to be 'vijnanam-sahitam' - supplemented with realisation.  And realisation cannot come about until and unless one properly acts on scriptural injunctions with faith and determination.

The nice instruction from Hitopadesh Radha Jivan Prabhuji gave explains our missing link between knowledge and realised knowledge, and between entanglement in material world and liberation from its miseries. Knowledge devoid of actions will keep us entangled in this material world - in fact it will make us more miserable.  However when that scriptural knowledge is acted upon then the actual realisation comes about - the actual substance of which is love for Godhead, love for Krsna and the by-product of which is liberation from the miseries of the material world.

Therefore we should not get only stuck on talk.  Let us walk the talk of scriptures so to speak by acting on the instructions of Srimad Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita.

Your servant,
Viraja Krsna das
