In reality if we analyse - are we the doers really? After all everything happens as Krsna desires so where does our endeavour fit in?

Throw away any hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for lifetimes. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take! Love others even if you don't like them. 

Thus the seventh pregnancy of Devaki signifies the appearance of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. After the six sons Kama, Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada and Matsarya are killed, the Shesha incarnation (Lord Balarama) creates a suitable situation for the appearance of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. In other words, when one awakens his natural Krsna consciousness, Lord Krsna appears.

There is a famous saying that goes as follows: There is enough in this world for every man's need; But not for even one man's greed. So may we remember this and always be attached to His Lotus feet. 

Even though you are mostly involved in household affairs, your mind is not affected by material desires. You do not take much pleasure in the pursuit of wealth."

we have to first understand what it means to be a devotee. Srila Prabhupada gives a very simple and clear definition for a devotee as the one in whose association we can immediately think of Krishna. 

One day we will be alone, particularly in old age, when we have no one but the four walls as our companions. And then death. If whole life we are not training ourselves to be alone, then when the day comes, it will be intolerable."

follow while preaching. Unflinching faith in chanting the Holy Names. To remain patient but at the same time continue with service-even if there is not a good response. Importance of Humility, Gravity and Peacefulness especially while chanting.

So the point we have to understand is that we are always looking for short-term benefits whereas Krishna is looking after our long-term welfare. Best is to submit to the will of the Lord whatever it may be (daiva labdhena santosha) and our heads must be in understanding Srimad Bhagavatam and putting it into practice.

We all must have heard this famous proverb, "Cleanliness is next to Godliness". Srila Prabhupada once gave his trademark punch, "Cleanliness is not next to Godliness, Cleanliness IS Godliness!"

"Srila Prabhupada's explanation on this one verse (dehino 'smin yatha dehe) taught me a lot more than my 15 years of Christian studies!"

This is the reason why without taking shelter of the pure devotee and becoming initiated, one can easily become disheartened and not remember Krsna.

what to speak of spiritual happiness.If one is really devotee, then whatever action he does will be tinged with the fact that everything belongs to Krsna.

We are not capable of doing anything without Krsna’s mercy even though it may as trivial as this experience of mine and There is a purpose behind everything that happens in our lives which is beyond our very limited capacity to understand and The best thing to do is to humbly carry on rendering loving devotional service to Krsna to the best of our abilities.

Krishna Himself lists four kinds of mixed devotees who come to Him (BG 7.16) - the distressed (aarthah), the desirer for wealth (artharthi), the inquisitive(jijnasu) and he who is in search for knowledge(jnani).

Here is a lovely poem that was printed in the Back to Godhead during the centennial celebrations. I like it and thought some of you would also like it. Hare Krsna!

He showed us through his personal example that old age, disease or death cannot trouble one's consciousness. All this was possible because he took the Best Insurance Policy - Krishna Consciousness.  

"Thus Maharaja Parikshit made an organized effort to propagate the chanting of the Lord's holy name, and thus he saved the citizens from the clutches of Kali."

In our daily routine, if we hear this Krsna katha, the result will be that all the dirty things in the heart, accumulated life after life, will be cleared out. As a matter of fact, we will see that we are no longer in ignorance or in passion, but are situated in the mode of goodness.

He was very fond of seeing many books published to spread the Krsna consciousness movement. Therefore our society, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness, has been formed to execute the order of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His Divine Grace Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura.

I came across this wonderful excerpt, while reading Mantra Seventeen of Sri Isopanisad. It actually tells us how or rather what our activities should be like for Devotional Service! i.e nine principles of Devotional Service! 

Devotional service to the Lord consists essentially of nine transcendental activities: 

Our Vedic culture is spread all over the world. There are several undeniable proofs, that are revealed over the years by various researchers and archeologists and several books have been written on it.

every householder must offer food to the Lord, and the result will be that everyone, even a company of guests numbering ten thousand, will be satisfied because of the Lord's being satisfied. That is the way of devotional service.

‘Most important is how the man in Krishna consciousness speaks, for speech is the most important quality of any man. 

Even as devotees, the acharyas caution us that the devotional service which is conditional upon circumstances cannot fully satisfy the soul and cure the disease of material life. 

Actually in the shastras it is said that the Lord is the original physician. The yajur veda states, "bhiṣak tvām" (you're the physician). The Lord is a very special physician because He is the doctor for both material and spiritual diseases.

It is not just a way of life; It is a must. If you want to be free from diseased condition, you must treat yourself properly.. Treatment is you surrender unto God and take to His service. 

The main purpose of studying scriptures is to increase our faith and not for purpose of knowledge or speculation.

As the man saved himself from ordering the genie to go up and down the ladder, if we also order the mind to chant the names of Krsna going up and down the japa mala, it won't trouble us unnecessarily.

I have been writing the above statement for every mail all these years, but I haven't yet realized what "humble obeisances" mean. Srimad Bhagavatam has a beautiful verse (4.9.47) that revealed to me the true meaning of humility through a very simple example of "water".
