Gurudev informed us that when devotees travel so long to meet each other anything can happen on our way and it is only by the mercy of Krishna that we reach safely. So when ever devotees meet they should always greet each other with a smiling face.

Maharaj was strongly insisting how to practice devotional service in our day to day activities and without which our devotion will become superficial.

Although Dhruva Maharaja was a small boy, he wanted to offer prayers to the Supreme Personality of Godhead in suitable language. But because he was inexperienced, he could not adjust himself immediately. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, being situated in everyone's heart, could understand Dhruva Maharaja's awkward position. Out of His causeless mercy He touched His conchshell to the forehead of Dhruva Maharaja, who stood before Him with folded hands.

Prabhupada says in the wonderful purport 2.7.15 -"The Lord is the protector of everyone, but He is the first protector of one who acknowledges the superiority of the Lord instead of being so falsely proud as to deny the superiority of the Lord or to claim to be equal to Him. He is ever superior. Since the Lord is superior to everyone, His perfection is also superior. No one can imagine it ."

One should engage oneself in the practice of yoga with determination and faith and not be deviated from the path. One should abandon, without exception, all material desires born of mental speculation and thus control all the senses on all sides by the mind.

'Don't be a fool; all you have to do is to tick only one tick at a time.'

Maharaj says to us always. We better start reading the scriptures today. We cannot keep on postponing for next day. Who has seen the next day?

When we start our devotional service by the mercy of devotees, Srila Prabhupada's books, prasadam etc., we get a chance to hear about the great glories of devotional service from scriptures.

Our Maharaj would say that only the money you spend is your money and the rest of it which is in the bank as deposits will be used by your family or if the Bank cheats us we will lose the entire money.

Deep in the forest of Jharikhanda, there lived a wolf. Once, while he was walking in the countryside, he found a sheepskin on the ground. He then thought “If I wear this sheepskin, then I can get mixed up with the flock of sheep that comes here everyday.

Tons of recitation have got no meaning if there is no grain of realization and such realizations will help us only when they are put in to practice in our day to day life.

When Maharaj came to Chennai a few years back, I first thought it will be difficult to follow his lecture since he looks very advanced in age and the voice might have broken. But the moment he started singing the verses from Bhagavatam, I was really captivated by his rumbling voice. I was very much surprised."

Those who drink through aural reception, fully filled with the nectarean messages of Lord Krsna, the beloved of the devotees, purify the polluted aim of life known as material enjoyment and thus go back to Godhead, to the lotus feet of Him ( the Personality of Godhead).

Miseries come at us not to trouble us but to make us more strong and resolute in our determination to perform devotional service.

May the glorification of the transcendental name, form, qualities and paraphernalia of the Supreme Personality of Godhead protect us from the influence of bad planets, meteors, envious human beings, serpents, scorpions, and animals like tigers and wolves.

To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the intelligence by which they can come to ME.

In executing devotional service, one has to see every living entity equally, without enmity towards anyone yet without intimate connections with anyone. One has to observe celibacy, be grave and execute his eternal activities, offering the results to the Supreme Personality of Godhead.

Maharaj Pariksit attained the highest perfection, shelter at Lord Krishna's lotus feet, simply by hearing about Lord Visnu, Shukadev Goswami attained perfection simply by reciting Srimat-Bhagvatam, Prahlada Maharaj attained perfection by remembering the Lord.

Devotional service means there is movement. Getting up for mangala aarati, cooking, cleaning, deity worship, preaching, everything involves movement and this means we are out of another kali yuga symptom that is laziness.

Today we had a very grand festival of Lord Jagannath's Ratha-yatra in the city of Chennai. Thousands of devotees from all over the world had come to take part in this annual festival which has been conducted since the last 25 years. Over the years the Ratha-yatra festival has gained a lot of popularity in Chennai

A movie is run for so many hours, but even the ardent fans of the actors see it not more than a few times. It is natural - they get fed up.

He will be a virtuously qualified reservoir of all good qualities; he will be jolly and happy in others' happiness, distressed in others' distress, and will have no enemies. He will be a destroyer of the lamentation of all the universes, like the pleasant moon after the summer sun.

O Brahmana Vyasadeva, it is decided by the learned that the best remedial measure for removing all troubles and miseries is to dedicate one's activities to the service of the Supreme Lord Personality of Godhead [Shri Krishna].

I, the Soul of all beings, am not as satisfied by ritual worship, brahminical initiation, penances or self-discipline as I am by faithful service rendered to one's spiritual master.

Many a times, we think that  only by staying in close proximity with Lord or spiritual master or senior devotees or by settling in dhaam, we would advance in bhakti. But as Lord very nicely explains here, it is possible to increase more love for Him even in separation, if we engage ourselves in hearing His glories, seeing His Deity form, chanting His names and glories.

Everyone of us know that time is imperceptibly passing without our knowledge and it goes on ruthlessly without any mercy. Time is ticking very fast and inevitable death is approaching for all of us even though we do not want it .

"Such Vedantis, or the bhakti-vedantas, are impartial in distributing the transcendental knowledge of devotional service. To them no one is enemy or friend; no one is educated or uneducated. No one is especially favorable, and no one is unfavorable.

Our minds are always restless and flickering. A bad thought pollutes our conciousness and hence it becomes imperative on us to keep the mind under control. Our problem is always that we are not able to concentrate our mind on japa and other devotional activities.

"Lord Siva said : "My dear Lord, my mind and consciousness are always fixed on Your lotus feet, which, as the source of all benediction and the fulfillment of all desires, are worshipped by all liberated great sages because Your lotus feet are worthy of worship. With my mind, fixed on Your Lotus feet, I am no longer disturbed by persons who blaspheme Me, claiming that my activities are not purified. I do not mind their accusations, and I excuse them out of compassion, just as You exhibit compassion toward all liviing entities."

Normally almost everyone of us go to the Supreme Lord Krishna to fulfill our desires. Krishna also does fulfill our desires almost all the times mainly because He knows that if He does not fulfill our desires, we will stop whatever little bit of devotional service we may be doing.

"One who is thus transcendentally situated at once realizes the Supreme Brahman and becomes fully joyful. He never laments or desires to have anything. He is equally disposed to every living entity.In that state he attains pure devotional service unto Me."

Srila Prabhupada says - "The purport of this statement by Dhruva Maharaja is that devotional service in the association of devotees is the cause of the development of further devotional service.
