"Purified persons who constantly serve, meditate upon and glorify Your shoes, which destroy everything inauspicious, are sure to obtain freedom from material existence, O lotus-naveled one. Even if they desire something in this world, they obtain it, whereas others—those who do not take shelter of You—are never satisfied, O Lord."
"Accepting the importance of self realization and philosophical search for the Absolute Truth; all these I declare to be knowledge, and besides these whatever there may be is ignorance."
Come to reality. If you know that you cannot pay the Rs.2 back, do not even think of borrowing. Be happy with what you have and stop grabbing Krishna's money.
The Blessed Lord said: "Time I am, destroyer of the worlds, and I have come to engage all people. With the exception of you [the Pandavas], all the soldiers here on both sides will be slain."
In fact we are in the midst of all kind of trouble arising out of the things governed by the material law and we do not have any time to realize and do the introspection. But we are very smart in playing the blame game without doing the duties prescribed by Krishna.
"When a pot is broken, the portion of the sky within the pot remains as the element sky, just as before. In the same way, when the gross and subtle bodies die, the living entity within resumes his spiritual identity."
"My dear Lord, all living entities within this material world are mad after planning for things, and they are always busy with a desire to do this or that. This is due to uncontrollable greed. The greed for material enjoyment is always existing in the living entity, but Your Lordship is always alert, and in due course of time You strike him, just as a snake seizes a mouse and very easily swallows him."
The Personality of Godhead said: "O my dear King, even the entirety of whatever there may be within the three worlds to satisfy one's senses cannot satisfy a person whose senses are uncontrolled."
After Maharaj refreshed himself, we immediately performed Guru Puja and had kirtan after which Maharaj gave a class. There were 2 things that really inspired and left me thinking how far back I am in performing my sadhana (devotional service).
The first condition when we approach a Guru for shelter is to promise unconditional surrender unto his will. Up until then we may have had our own notions and concoctions.
Three years back, our beloved Guru maharaj gave us brahminical initiation and he advised us that we should worship Sri Sri Radha-Krishna deities because it is our Vedic culture to perform deity worship.
The manifestation of unadulterated devotional service is exhibited when one's mind is at once attracted to hearing the transcendental name and qualities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is residing in everyone's heart. Just as the water of the Ganges flows naturally down towards the ocean, such devotional ecstasy, uninterrupted by any material condition, flows towards the Supreme Lord.
Nobody can deny the fact that they do not possess any of the above defects, but for neophyte devotees like me who are engaged in performing devotional service and trying to progress spiritually in Krishna consciousness, need to get rid of the above four defects. But the question arises how do we do that?
We should do our own things and not depend on other living entities: No one can be more exemplary than our beloved Maharaj to drive home this important point.
The body is the symbol of disease and sickness. The disease may differ from one variety to another, but disease is always there just as there is birth and death for everyone. In this busy material world, as a conditioned soul, we often fall sick or suffer from different kinds of pains for which the so called doctors are not able to identify the cause.
"With sword in hand, intelligent men cut through the binding knots of reactionary work [karma] by remembering the Personality of Godhead. Therefore, who will not pay attention to His message?"
Today is the most auspicious occasion of the appearance of Srimati Radharani - the queen of Vrindavana, the ultimate pleasure potency of Supreme Lord Krishna.
Our normal tendency is that when we give class or do some sort of service, we automatically feel that we have done it and deserve to be thanked by others.
"san-nimitte varaṁ tyāgo vināśe niyate sati: everything within this material world will be destroyed, and therefore one should use everything for good purposes. If one is advanced in knowledge, he must always be prepared to sacrifice anything for a better cause."
"As the blazing fire of death, I cause great fear to whoever makes the least discrimination between himself and other living entities because of a differential outlook."
Past couple of years, I was very irregular in studying Srimad Bhagavatam. Prior to that I was reading 1 Chapter every-day, and I had experienced the bliss, the clarity of mind which it brings.
"Consequently, although his [Svayambhuva Manu] duration of life gradually came to an end, his long life, consisting of a Manvantara era, was not spent in vain, since he ever engaged in hearing, contemplating, writing down and chanting the pastimes of the Lord."
After the installation, the priest announced that the house was no longer only an ashram but a temple as the deities had arrived and made it Their home. Deity worship is one way to make advancement in our devotional service.
