Unless we try to understand our own constituitional position, and please run after this (Bhagavatam), nobody is going to help us.

Peaceful, determined and fixed mind is very essential for any human being to realize the sanctity of the Supersoul. Uncontrolled mind is like an untrained horse in a race course.

In the previous offering we heard the following points from Maharaj. 1. We must digest the shlokas and not just 'know' them. 2. We must be attached to Lord's lotus feet and not to our funeral ceremony and samadhi.

Following is a humble effort to transcribe the nectarean class given by our spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 3.9.5 in Sri Sri RadhaNeelMadhav dham, Rajkot.

There is very nice link between shraddha (faith) and shaanti (peace). When we have faith in God, we will be at peace. On the other hand when we start losing faith in Him, then our peace is also lost

If physical paraphernalia are not available, then we can do maanasik pooja (worship within the mind) by chanting prayers.

In Srimad Bhagavatam verse 4.8.58 Narada Muni says,"One should follow in the footsteps of previous devotees regarding how to worship the Supreme Lord with the prescribed paraphernalia, or one should offer worship within the heart by reciting the mantra to the Personality of Godhead, who is nondifferent from the mantra."

Narada Muni knew that Dhruva Maharaj is in forest. So he might not be able to offer bhoga cooked in elaborate manner. Nor can he get Deity made of pulp, wood or metal.

This is in continuation of the previous topic, "Steadiness in Devotional Service", wherein we were meditating on the wonderful verses spoken by Sri Narada Muni to Dhruva Maharaj, describing the form and glories of Supreme Lord. In the previous offerings we saw the following points which will help us to become steady in devotional service.   

In Srimad Bhagavatam 3.14.48 there is a beautiful description of the qualities of pure devotees. By meditating on these qualities we can also advance in devotional service. 

In Srimad Bhagavatam verse 10.2.26, the demigods pray to Lord Krishna in the womb of Mother Devaki as follows.

Without the blessings of Guru, we cannot progress even a bit in our life. Spiritual master blesses the disciple whole-heartedly when he is pleased by the behaviour and service attitude of the disciple.

This is in continuation of previous offering, "Vow means Practice", wherein we were hearing some of the points discussed by our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 3.24.42.

In Srimad Bhagavatam verse 3.24.42, Maitreya Muni while describing the renunciation of Kardamana Muni, says the following to Vidura.

Guru, saadhus and shastras help us to lead our lives in a regulated manner. They are like light-house for us in this ocean of material darkness.

Our beloved Gurudev HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj says while talking about humility, "We have to be humble. That should be our nature. You do not have to open your mouth and tell that you are humble.

When we are chanting the Mahamantra also devotees advise us that to fix our mind on chanting we should try to chant sitting in front of the Deity or any picture of the Lord or Tulsi devi.

a) We should surrender to Krishna, fully dependent on Him without any reservations. b) Lord is tolerance personified and is mercifully tolerating our inebrieties. Remembering this we should learn to be tolerant to other living entities. c) Lord's beauty is matchless and by sincerely hearing His glories from pure devotees, we will be able to meet the Lord.  d) Lord is shaantah - calm, quite and peaceful. When we practise tolerance and satisfaction, then we also become shaantah

Every day we offer bhoga to the Lord. But we should always remember that we should not do it mechanically. If we do it in mechanical manner then Lord  will not accept it.

This is in continuation of the previous topic, "Steadiness in Devotional Service", wherein we were meditating on the wonderful verses spoken by Sri Narada Muni to Dhruva Maharaj, describing the form and glories of Supreme Lord. In Srimad Bhagavatam verse 4.8.46 Narada Muni glorifies the Lord as follows.

Dhruva Maharaj is known for his steady and firm determination. He was blessed with a wonderful mother like Suniti who instructed him that without thinking anything inauspicious for his step-mother Suruchi, he has to go to forest and do penance to see Supreme Lord.

In Srimad Bhagavatam verse 4.2.19 Maitreya Muni narrates to Vidura about how Daksha cursed Lord Shiva.

For the past couple of days, we were hearing from the discussion of our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on work and devotion. We shall continue to hear from Maharaj on how we should conduct ourselves in work-place.

Please go on working very hard. First duty of the hearer is that you have to be immaculate in your earning job. You do whatever is required at the office. Don't disturb each other in the office time. Mobile should be switched off so that you are not disturbed.

In one of the discussions with devotees on 2nd Oct 2009 in Sri Sri Radha-Neelmadhav dham Rajkot, our spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj gave a few thunderbolt like instructions about how we should balance our work and devotion. We would like to share some of the salient points here in this offering.

This is in conclusion of the previous offerings transcribing the class by HG Devakinanadan prabhuji on Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.17.18.  The conclusion to the verse which Maharaj gave is very important. The cow and the bull are teaching us two very important things. 

10. Pure Devotional Service can uproot the weeds of sinful action: Maharaj says that even if you go to the moon, your karma will follow you. Only one remedy can stop the results of the sin and that is pure devotional service

8. Devotee tolerates the sufferings: Maharaj said that we can only be conscious of Krishna if we have tolerance. There is no end to the sufferings and so there should not be any end to tolerance of sufferings.
