We have been looking at the episode of Parikshit Maharaj cursed by the Brahmana boy and were learning a few lessons from this pastime in the series of offerings titled "Living the Bhagavatam Way". H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj says that, "The way to become conscious of Krishna is to become dependent on Krishna."

Few days ago the festival of Deepavali was celebrated. It is the day wherein Lord Sri Krishna was tied in the wooden mortar by Yashoda mata. Also this is the day of victorious entry of Lord Rama into Ayodhya after the war with Ravana.

While studying the first canto, I came across this simply wonderful verse always worth remembering (SB 1.2.6). Best practical living example of the above verse which we experience daily are parents

Constant chanting of verses and translation will help us in meditating on the verses and in preaching.Our anchor is Krishna and His Holy Names and so we should lovingly chant His names on our japa beads.

In the pastime of Ambarish Maharaj and Durvasa muni, when Durvasa muni finally approaches Supreme Lord and asks for forgiveness for offending Maharaj Ambarish, an unalloyed devotee of the Lord, and protection from the life threatening Sudarshan chakra, Lord Krishna very nicely glorifies the greatness of His devotees through the following verses in Srimad Bhagavatam.

In his purport to Srimad Bhagavatam verse 1.15.8, Srila Prabhupada refers to the pastime with Maya Danava. Prabhupada writes "The demon Maya Danava was an inhabitant of the forest Khandava, and when the Khandava forest was set on fire, he asked protection from Arjuna.
