The more we tolerate another living entity, the more good we do for them.

"Although flowering plants like the mandaara, kunda, kurabaka, utpala, campaka, arna, punnaaga, naagakeshara, bakula, lily and paarijaata are full of transcendental fragrance, they are still conscious of the austerities performed by tulasi, for tulasi is given special preference by the Lord, who garlands Himself with tulasi leaves."

"When the king of bees hums in a high pitch, singing the glories of the Lord, there is a temporary lull in the noise of the pigeon, the cuckoo, the crane, the cakravaka, the swan, the parrot, the partridge and the peacock. Such transcendental birds stop their own singing simply to hear the glories of the Lord."

"Your order, each one of Your servants can deliver innumerable universes."

Those who try to inflict miseries upon others, they suffer from that misery till you don't retaliate or speak at all.

We always have to remember that before we speak, we have to remember ten times. But we forget this instruction and we think after we speak. Words once spoken can never be swallowed back. They always remain in the atmosphere and everytime, you are either glorified or blamed for those words.

Sometimes a father punishes his child, and when the child is grown up and comes to his senses, he understands that the father's punishment was not actually punishment but mercy. Similarly, Daksha appreciated that

Narada muni's prayers to Nara-Narayana rshi actually starts from 5.19.12 and this verse is the conclusion of the previous four verses. Hence this verse actually starts with 'Therefore', which is a conclusion of the previous verses.

"According to the three modes of material nature and the work associated with them, the four divisions of human society are created by Me. And although I am the creator of this system, you should know that I am yet the nondoer, being unchangeable."

The Lord is all-powerful, and if He is satisfied by our obedience unto His lotus feet, He is competent to bestow upon us all kinds of blessings for the successful execution of both our material and spiritual lives."

While describing about the sacrifices which Lord Ram performed after He was enthroned, Sukadev Goswami explains how magnanimously Lord gave everything in charity to the brahmanas and priests who performed the sacrifices. After thus giving everything in charity to the brahmanas,

The root is if you understand the duty, if you understand the spiritual spark's eternity, if you understand these two things – the body's temporary nature and the spiritual spark's identity, as soon as ....

"Death is not at all pleasing, and since everyone is exactly like a condemned man being led to the place of execution, what possible happiness can people derive from material objects or the gratification they provide?"

If you forget him, you cannot go even an inch ahead. This is our initiation.

These coverings have no meaning at all. As soon as you miss the chance in the human body, then again you are in the hellish condition.

"When You go off to the forest during the day, a tiny fraction of a second becomes like a millennium for us because we cannot see You. And even when we can eagerly look upon Your beautiful face, so lovely with its adornment of curly locks, our pleasure is hindered by our eyelids, which were fashioned by the foolish creator."

Arjuna said: "You are the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original person, the unborn, the greatest."

Now nothing will affect us because our whole attention is towards the Supreme Personality of Godhead Krishna. That is why we do not feel anything. Something may come. Something may not come. Somehow or the other we pass the life and attain our goal.

"My dear son, don't wish for anything inauspicious for others. Anyone who inflicts pains upon others suffers himself from that pain."

The following is a humble effort to transcribe the initiation lecture delivered by our beloved spiritual master HH Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj on 28th June 2003 in Auckland, New Zealand. Maharaj's initiation lectures are always very very enlivening and thought provoking and in this lecture Maharaj guides us on the various conclusions we should arrive at before we get initiated.

I have heard from you this Srimad-Bhagavatam, which is the perfect summary of all the Puranas and which perfectly describes the Supreme Lord, Uttamahshloka. My lord, I now have no fear of Takshaka or any other living being, or even of repeated deaths, because I have absorbed myself in that purely spiritual Absolute Truth, which you have revealed and which destroys all fear.

Therefore we should not worry too much about our image, name and fame rather we should be ready to give up all these as a sacrifice for the mission of our spiritual master. We are so much concerned about the society, how the other devotees would think and so on.

Our spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj while commenting on the extent of obedience said, "If you have to breathe, please take my permission." To that extent, we are to become obedient.

"And because you are submissive, your spiritual masters have endowed you with all the favors bestowed upon a gentle disciple. Therefore you can tell us all that you have scientifically learned from them."

Maharaj never considered such duties as material or anything inferior. Maharaj said that when we do those activities immaculately, then automatically Krishna gives us more time for devotional service.

Once a German Professor, Prof. Pater Porsch asked His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada, "Should this chanting be loud? Or can it also be half loud, whisper or silently, mentally? Does it play any difference? Does it make any difference?" Prabhupada replied,

"Once in Rajkot, Maharaj was going through the verses from the chapter entitled, "Instructions for civilized human beings", in Srimad Bhagavatam Seventh canto, 15th chapter.

One time devotees asked Srila Prabhupada on the significance of Ratha yatra. Prabhupada said that, "Whoever sees Lord Jagannath, smiling on the rath, would go back to Him after this life. At the end of this life, you see the flashback of all the things that happened in your life. When the scene of Ratha yatra comes

"The little brahmana wanted to show his prowess in destruction, and he had the audacity to punish such a great king as Maharaja Parikshit. He wanted to take the place of Lord Krishna after His departure. These are the principal signs of upstarts who want to take the place of Sri Krishna under the influence of the age of Kali. In other words, the personality of Kali got the opportunity to reign through this son of a brahmana, Shrngi."
