The point is devotional service is important, nothing else. If you change the goal, then the goal will be polluted and polluted goal will not help us. So please keep only devotional service in your mind. Whatever projects you start, be it food-distribution or whatever, there must be chanting involved. That is the first thing.

"Dreams about Krishna comes true." Prabhupada also dreamt so many things and eventually it is taking shape. So please co-operate with them. Don't worry about the economy side. It is a by-product. But you please chant your rounds for this seva. When you chant your rounds nicely, then the devotees will get sufficient banking to start something.

There are two rectangular shaped wells named Ganga and Yamuna within the temple and wherein devotees draw water which is at a distance of 30 to 40 feet below ground level. They just use rope and a pot to draw the water and then they carry the pots on the shoulders all the way to the kitchen. Similarly all the vegetables are chopped using the traditional instruments which were used in Vedic times for cutting.

"There are many varieties of scriptures, and in all of them there are many prescribed duties, which can be learned only after many years of study in their various divisions. Therefore, O sage, please select the essence of all these scriptures and explain it for the good of all living beings, that by such instruction their hearts may be fully satisfied."

We may do so many things in the name of devotional service to the Lord and if there is any deceptive motive in that service, Krishna will expose us ultimately because we cannot cheat Krishna and our Guru. They are eternal and they are constantly watching our devotional service. We may wrap and couch it in the package of devotional service, but still Krishna is biggest deceptor and will expose us at some point of time.

And another aspect of His wonder was that He displayed contradictory qualities such as ferocity and compassion. He was so ferocious with Hiranyakashipu that He took out the intestines of the demon and wore them as garland. At that same time, He was very compassionate to Hiranyakashipu because by His blessings Hiranyakashipu enjoyed life in heavenly planets for many years (inspite of his hatred towards Lord and His devotee). And while He is the most ferocious, He is also the most auspicious and peaceful and hence is called as 'bhadram' in the sruti mantras.

As per dictionary "science" means the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. If you apply this to atma-tattva, then it is the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the scripture and behaviour of the physical and natural world including the Lord and the living entities through observation and experiment. The word practical activity and behaviour is the main point in the science of atma-tattva.

The Lord's palm is just like lotus flower. Therefore in the lotus flower it is very soft, very pleasing, and how the nails came? Therefore adbhuta. tava kara-kamala, adbhuta. nakham adbhuta-srngam. It is not possible to grow some ferocious nails, piercing nails, in the lotus flower. This is contradictory. Therefore Jayadeva says adbhuta. 'It is wonderful. It is astonishing.'

"Lord Narasimhadeva's mouth and mane were sprinkled with drops of blood, and His fierce eyes, full of anger, were impossible to look at. Licking the edge of His mouth with His tongue, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Narasimhadeva, decorated with a garland of intestines taken from Hiranyakashipu's abdomen, resembled a lion that has just killed an elephant."

"This is no way to treat a man of God!", he shouted back. "You are supposed to speak to me with respect. Hey! Don't you kick me! I am not one of your donkeys!" "I know!", the washerman said. "My donkeys have more sense! "

The ferocious form, roaring and sudden manifestation of Bhagavan Narasimha was wonderous and fearful for the all the devotees and devatas also except a few (Mother Lakshmi, Lord Siva and Bhakta Prahlada). According to Bhagavata purana Lakshmi was afraid of the Lord's form as mentioned below (SB 7.9.2). The Narasimha form was a great wonder even for the Vishnudutas who

Lord Krishna states in Bhagavad Gita, "One who understands My birth and activities in truth does not come back to this world." Accepting the inconceivable nature of the Lord is more important than seeing Him in person. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Swami Prabhupada used to say, "Do not try to see Krishna. Serve Him in such a way that He comes to see you."

"While showing his extraordinary prowess, Hiranyakashipu, who desired to kill his own son, heard that wonderful, tumultuous sound, which had never before been heard. Upon hearingthe sound, the other leaders of the demons were afraid. None of them could find the origin of that sound in the assembly."

Another wonder of this manifestation is that Prahlada never prayed the Lord to appear from the pillar. He just asserted that the Lord is everywhere. He was tortured throughout his life by his atheistic father. Still he never prayed for protection from the Lord. But Bhagavan Narasimha due to His unlimited mercy on His devotee, protected his body in all circumstances and finally to protect his words, appeared from the pillar unwarranted so that His devotee's faith on Him is proved right.

"What assurance of real happiness is there in all one's wealth, youth, sons, and relatives? This life totters like a drop of water on a lotus petal; therefore you should always worship the lotus feet of Lord Hari."

What will happen to these young ones? They will have to face more worse time than us. So make them ready to face those times. We must give them Krishna consciousness. It is our pious duty. If we fail in that, then in front of our own eyes, our young ones will be completely gone, completely gone. 

How to free ourselves from modes of nature? For this everyone comes up with some method. We want short-cuts for this also. So someone says, "Do you want to be free from modes ? Come-on take this injection." No. That is not correct. In order to free ourselves from the modes, we have to come to the source which is not written by a person who himself is victimised by the three modes of material nature. Otherwise the person who is himself victimised by the modes, how can he write the pure scriptures?

sickness comes many times in one life, because it depends on the condition of the mind. Mind never behaves alright. That is that nature of the mind, not to be alright. And in order to make it alright, we have to convince the mind that, "Please somehow or the other, you have to come to this side of remembering the Supreme Absolute Truth."

please you should come and feelingly sing bhajans and kirtans, read Bhagavatam and Bhagavad Gita. And this can never be complete. Again, please be patient about it. Great amount of patience is required for this, because this is a life-long process. Till you are alive and may be after, this process has to continue. So it is not that, "I have completed reading and now I will go back and again start smoking." No. It is not like that. There is no termination.

Some disease may still linger on. We were staying in London, and I was basically from Kutch area. You know in India, Gujarat, there are three parts in Gujarat one is Bhujagad, one is Saurashtra - where Dwaraka and Rajkot are situated and then other part is Kutch, where Bhuj is there.

We have to remind ourselves that this position is not a comfortable place, to stay in this planet. Anywhere in this material planet, we don't have any comfortable situation. janma, mrtyuh, jaraa, vyaadhi are always after us. Today you are very young. Black hair is there. But how long will it be black?

Child never has high pressure or low pressure, because child obeys whatever mother or father says and so he is safe. His pressure is normal. But we hate father and mother and that is why our pressure goes high and low.

"Persons who hear Srimad Bhagavatam regularly and are always taking the matter very seriously will have the Personality of Godhead Sri Krishna manifested in their hearts within a short time."

These scriptures have given the definite number of the species, which is impossible for us to carry out by experiment. It is impossible. As we didn't know who our father was, but we had the authority of the mother. And she knew who our father was and we just accepted her statement and we call him daddy. Otherwise, if you don't obey the mother, how will you be able to find out the father. Very difficult to find out. How many people's blood group you will take and test?

We should be conscious to recite the verses clearly, distinguishing between short and long letters. Because everything is arranged like this in order for the verse to be symmetrical in meter. The sound vibration must be correct. When we make a sincere effort to lovingly sing the verse correctly, then Krishna will dance in the verse. Otherwise Krishna will not appear.

A Vaishnava is always tolerant, and Lord Shiva is considered the topmost Vaishnava, so his character, as shown in this scene, is excellent. He became morose because he knew that these people, both his men and Daksha's, were unnecessarily cursing and countercursing one another, without any interest in spiritual life.

Human existence should best be utilised. Otherwise we just behave like animals. Eating, sleeping, mating and defending. Animals also do these things. What is the difference between us and them? We should try to convince our mind, as mind doesn't understand these things

1. We must turn to Krishna in times of fear.
2. Hate the sin and not the sinner.

Now let us continue to hear more nectar from Maharaj.

Similarly if the waves of distress are there, we should not be troubled by the waves. With full heart, we should come to Krishna. That is way to sail out of the material ocean.

"The demigods, the inhabitants of the higher planets, were freed from all fear upon hearing the cause of the darkness explained by Brahma, who was born from Vishnu. Thus they all returned to their respective planets."
