Persons who fully surrender at the lotus feet of the Supreme Personality of Godhead and always think of His lotus feet are accepted and recognized by the Lord as His own personal assistants or servants. The Lord never bestows upon such servants the brilliant opulences of the upper, lower and middle planetary systems of this material world. When one possesses material opulence in any of these three divisions of the universe, his possessions naturally increase his enmity, anxiety, mental agitation, pride and belligerence. Thus one goes through much endeavor to increase and maintain his possessions, and he suffers great unhappiness when he loses them.

Krishna says that, "Not only I will give you this Dhruva loka, but I will personally expand and make sure that I am there to always give you the protection." And that is why shastras say that Dhruva loka is akin to Sveta-dvip, the causal ocean. It is that part of the universe which is the closest to the spiritual world and the Lord is sitting there, taking care of His devotee even till now, now.

So Dhruva Maharaj concludes after chanting beautiful prayers to Krishna. He says Krishna, "Krishna, I am fool number one. I came asking You for the world, but You have given me something much more than that and that is bhakti. I came looking for broken pieces of glass whereas actually diamonds were waiting for me.

O King of the demigods, since I, your enemy, am standing before you, why don't you hurl your thunderbolt at me? Although your attack upon me with your club was certainly useless, like a request of money from a miser, the thunderbolt you carry will not be useless. You need have no doubts about this.

On having darshan of the Lord, Dhruva Maharaj became ashamed because his determination to come to Krishna was on a material platform.

Because he had closed all his senses the entire 3 worlds became choked up, because he was one in his mind with Krishna. Finally the devatas called up Krishna and said, "Krishna, this devotee boy is highly determined, but before we die, you please save us"

Dhruva Maharaj had faith in his spiritual master. This is the point of determination and again it is faith. Because he has faith that Narada Muni has told him to stand here now, he knew that he would just be determined to meet Krishna. He was not doubtful.

My dear Narada muni, I am kshatriya. These kshatriyas, we feel the pinch when somebody insults us. So I want a kingdom bigger than my brother. If you can help me there, then help me. Give me a honest way to achieve what I want.

To prove that the statement of His servant Prahlada Maharaja was substantial — in other words, to prove that the Supreme Lord is present everywhere, even within the pillar of an assembly hall — the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Hari, exhibited a wonderful form never before seen. The form was neither that of a man nor that of a lion. Thus the Lord appeared in His wonderful form in the assembly hall.

Suniti could have told to Dhruva, "No. I am also the wife. What is this non-sense? But do you know what the mother told him? The mother told him, "She is right. She is right." Which part is she right? "That you have to pray to Krishna." See the mood of the devotee. When devotee hears something bad, he sees something good. This is devotee. He ignores the part that is bad.

When Ravana came to take Sita, he wanted to satisfy his senses. He did not want to do arati for Sita Mata. No. That was not in his mind. He wanted to enjoy Sita Mata. And when Sita Mata saw Mandodari in Ramayana, what does She say? She says, "My God, Ravana must be blind. Because Mandodari is greater than the goddess of fortune. She is more chaste than me and she looks 100 times more better than me. This Ravana must be a mad man that he cannot be chaste to her."

But if in this battle you cut off my head with your thunderbolt and kill my soldiers, O Indra, O great hero, I shall take great pleasure in offering my body to other living entities [such as jackals and vultures]. I shall thus be relieved of my obligations to the reactions of my karma, and my fortune will be to receive the dust from the lotus feet of great devotees like Narada Muni

Just like in our hearts we have place only for those we love, higher than all those we love is the object of all love and that is Krishna.

Those who are on this path are resolute in purpose, and their aim is one. O beloved child of the Kurus, the intelligence of those who are irresolute is many-branched.

If you really want to become peaceful and advance in bhakti, if you want to become advanced in your consciousness away from this body, then you should decide once and for all - ekeha kurunandana. You please become fixed at the lotus feet of Krishna.

The only qualification that we require to continue in Krishna consciousness is to have this unbreakable, unswerving, unflinching resolve. Resolve means determination, to continue on this path. It is very easy for us to feel very inspired when we are in the presence of devotees.

Krishna is very humble. Sudama went to His place and He washed his feet. Can you imagine ? Sudama was a poor brahmin friend, and He washed his feet.

To act in fair manner to people who are good is nothing special. But to have fair dealings with people, even when they do bad for us is very glorious quality.

From "pride", you take out "p", from arrogance you take out "a", then "conceit" - "c", "anger" - "a", "harsh-speech" - "h" and "ignorance" - "i" "pacahi" If you remember this word, "pacahi" - then you will be always careful to avoid it. You will not be jubilant. Don't forget this "pacahi"

There are six qualities and they should be remembered very nicely so that in our dreams also we should not be proud of anything. Pride clings on to anything.

When we take these six vows seriously and try to follow it as much as we can, then we will definitely get lasting peace and bliss in this life itself. It is the lack of hearing, speaking and meditating of the transcendental topics of Krishna, that is making us weak spiritually and go mental.

All of us might not be soldiers in battle-field, but this very life itself is a battle. We should not leave the battle at any time out of fear or laziness. Fear of death should not deter us from our commitment. Instead we should continue our prescribed duties diligently all the time, even till the moment of death.

One who does not see Lord Rama and one who is not seen by Lord Rama, is very unfortunate among all worlds. Even their own mind will ridicule them.

Srila Vishvanatha Cakravarti Thakura has commented on their stone-hearted condition as follows: bahir ashru-pulakayoh sator api yad dhrdayam na vikriyeta tad ashma-saaram iti kanishthaadhikaarinaam eva ashru-pulakaadi-mattve 'pi ashma-saara-hrdayatayaa nindaishaa.-Those who shed tears by practice, but whose hearts have not changed are to be known as stone-hearted devotees of the lowest grade."

yato yato nishcalati - Wherever it goes, it is a flickering mind, it will always go. tatas tato niyam yaitad - from there you must bring it back. by niyamaya - regulated - getting up at 4 am in the morning, doing mangala arati, tulsi pooja, chanting your rounds, reading scriptures and again attending Bhagavatam classes and for the whole day serving Krishna and again whenever you get time, you take to scriptures.

In order to have the satisfaction, we should always be satisfied in our own situations. If you are satisfied, then it will always drag you and force you to have unflinching devotion towards the Lord. Then atma or soul is purified by atma vidyayaa - knowledge of self-realisation.

And he wanted to cross the river somehow or the other. It so happened that he found a log of wood floating. He thought that it is a log of wood. So he caught hold of it and tried to cross the river. Here his wife had died and that was not log of wood, but it was the dead carcass of his wife.

Mind is a great problem in this age. Fifty years we were in Vaishnava society and since last 5 generations Vaishnavism is very seriously followed in our community and because of that there was no question of mind at all. This mind was completely absent, because everybody was a devotee. As soon as your mind is engaged in devotional service, there would be no inebriety.

After many many births we can come across this uttama adhikari and he sees everything as the potency of Krishna. Then he hates nobody. He doesn't have any grudge about anybody. He goes on doing his seva. And that is uttama adhikari and this is mentioned by Caitanya Mahaprabhu in the Adi-lilla verse 2.117 of Caitanya Caritamrta.

A person who is expert in understanding the conclusion of the revealed scriptures and who fully surrenders to the cause of the Lord is actually able to deliver others from the clutches of material existence.
