Any exercise you do and that will relieve you from the misery. Before you go to the doctors etc, please try out these things. If you really persevere with the spiritual upliftment, whatever is given by Prabhupada's mercy, and atleast remember Srila Prabhupada, then unknowingly you will be spiritually uplifted.
We will not be able to take a single breath more than what is alloted for us. We have experience of this. We will never be able to increase by even one moment. All these things in this material world are on a time scale, without exception. So that time should either be used in the maintenance jobs or responsibility or whatever and the rest of the time should be utilised for your own spiritual progress. That is Bhagavatam.
Unless I feel uncomfortable, why I should come for check-up. The moment we hear there is free check-up then everyone rush for that. This is wrong. We are doing these things because we are not ready to die. Those who are ready to die, they never die; those who are not ready to die, they always die every moment. Please, This is Bhagavatam.
We are all here because of HIS mercy. As soon as He decides that this bunch sitting in the plane should be finished, then in no time, they are finished. tvad upekshitaanaam -As soon as He neglects you, you are nowhere. This neglect should be avoided.
Srila Prabhupada has come to help us. It is so nice of him to come to give this Supreme medicine to all of us, all over the planet, through his books. This is real medicine. If you really love me or like me or try to follow me, then please do this. If you have Bhagavad Gita, so far so better. If you have Bhagavatam, so far so better. If you don't have these two books, then at least keep one small book of Srila Prabhupada.
whatever time you get, then immediately you must come to Bhagavatam. Don't worry if you don't understand. Just read and read. Now in all the languages we have Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavatam. So please do this and go through the pages very, very, very attentively and you will find the answersfor all your difficulties. There is no difficulty unknown to Bhagavatam. The medicine is given here. For everything Bhagavatam is the medicine.
I had only Bhagavatam and it is more than enough. For lives to come, it is more than enough, what to talk of this life? Please, please - if you really want to follow something from me, then just don't turn your head away from Bhagavatam. Always you must go to it.
Living entities whatever they are, they always try to trouble each other. We can't do anything about it. So I was trying to search from the pages of Srimad Bhagavatam as to how to deal with this. There are three fold miseries - tri taap mentioned there.
Lord Krishna as Govinda is more inclined to the brahmanas and the cows, indicating thereby that human prosperity depends more on these two items, namely brahminical culture and cow protection. Lord Krishna is never satisfied where these are lacking.
Our beloved spiritual master H H Mahavishnu Goswami Maharaj says that the root cause of all difficulties and problems in life is forgetfulness of Krishna. Lord was very upset with Indra in the beginning, but the moment he realised his mistake and surrendered to Supreme Lord and sought forgivance, Lord treated Indra with great compassion.
There is famous proverb, "Spare the rod and spoil the child." Since Krishna is Supreme Father, spiritual master and controller (isha) for all living entities, He ensures to give the right punishment to all living entities irrespective of whether they are devotees, demigods or demons as He never wants them to get spoilt. Lord doesn't want us to be rotting in this material world, but is very anxious to get us back home, back to Godhead.
Cows are very very dear to Krishna and Indra had troubled the cows of Vrindavana and thereby offended Krishna. So Indra with great hesitation went to meet Krishna along with Mother Surabhi. When small children do some mistake and feel fearful to meet the father, they take shelter of the mother.
Narsi Mehta gives us example of how Sudama gave just little chipped rice, but Krishna gave him golden palaces in return. Once when Krishna finger was hurt, Draupadi without any second thoughts, just tore a little bit of cloth from her saree to be used as a bandage for Krishna and at the hour of need, Krishna gave back 999 sarees in the assembly of Kauravas when Dushaashan tried to disrobe her.
There is no length of such paper or the amount of such ink which can confine your limitless compassion within the limitation of words. Oh ocean of kindness! Oh unlimited reservoir of mercy! My refuge is only your lotus feet.
The following is an offering unto the lotus feet of Jagatguru, Ashtottar-Shat, Sri Srimad, His Divine grace Srila Prabhupada on the auspicious occasion of 50th anniversary celebration of his arrival to USA. Recently, I sent this offering for publication in Bhagavad-Darshan, the Hindi edition of Back-to-Godhead magazine. It was gladly accepted and given a place in the November-2015 issue of the magazine.
After honouring the brahmanas with grains and money, He then instructed the cowherd men to give the prasadam to all grades of people including candalas and lower animals like cats and dogs. Krishna did not ask them to give even the prasadam to Indra. Because of pride, Indra was neglected completely by Lord and was deprived even of the prasadam.
Quite often when we do some service with motives, we tend to be casual and careless over time. As a result, after some time we will loose the taste and opportunity to serve. So we should be careful that one and only motive is to please Krishna and not for getting name and fame out of that service. The glories of Govardhan is that it could not move around
So to the best of his ability Govardhan offered all of the above things with great devotion to Lord. For each one of us Krishna has appeared in our lives and homes in the form of Holy Names, Gita and Deity and is mercifully touching our lives. So just like how Govardhan hill is feeling grateful for Lord's touch and using all his energy in serving Supreme Lord, we should also engage our body, mind and words fully in His service.
How fortunate is this Govardhana Hill, for it is enjoying the association of Lord Krishna and Balarama, who are accustomed to walking on it. Thus Govardhana is always in touch with the lotus feet of the Lord. And because Govardhana Hill is so obliged to Lord Krishna and Balarama, it is supplying different kinds of fruits, roots and herbs, as well as very pleasing crystal water from its lakes, in presentation to the Lord.
When the King of the elephants saw that he was under the clutches of the crocodile by the will of providence and, being embodied and circumstantially helpless, could not save himself from danger, he was extremely afraid of being killed. He consequently thought for a long time and finally reached the following decision.
To keep themselves fit, they must therefore place themselves in a normal condition of life. What constitutes a normal condition will not be the same for everyone, and therefore there are divisions of varnashrama-brahmana, kshatriya, vaishya, shudra, brahmacarya, grhastha, vanaprastha and sannyasa."
King Nimi then expressed his profound desire to hear about illusory potency of Supreme Personality of Godhead to save himself from the future attacks of external energy. With great humility, King conceded that glories of Lord is the perfect medicine for those who are tormented by miseries of the material world.
Srimad Bhagavatam explains how Gajendra the king of elephants when he was walking with his family in the forest of Trikuta mountain, broke many plants, creepers, thickets and trees, not caring for their piercing thorns. He was the strongest elephant in the forest and being the leader of his herd, he walked with great pride and a lot of noise which made even the Trikuta mountain to tremble.
People in general are being baffled in so many ways because they cannot control their senses. Their only possibility of rescue is Krishna. People are thinking that by adjusting the material energy, they will be happy. Everyone is trying this but they finally become frustrated. If we become strong enough to capture the lotus feet of Krishna, we will be rescued from the clutches of maya.
he young prince, highly dispassionate, left the kingdom and moved into the forest to engage himself in severe penance. A second son was born to Madalasa who was named Subahu. Madalasa brought him up in the same way as she had her first-born. Subahu also grew into a great renunciate and left home in search of jnana. The same happened with Shatrumardan the third son.
We all know that mother exercises a large influence on the child's life in all its aspects. The mother is the first guru of the child, simply by being the mother. In Mahabharata, Bhishma speaks of the glory of the mother in the Shanti parva. He says, "A teacher who imparts genuine knowledge is more important than ten tutors; the father is more important than ten teachers of genuine knowledge; the Mother is more important than ten such fathers. There is no greater guru than the mother."
here are situations wherein we get chastised for some mistake which we have done. If we are genuinely humble, then we take it in right spirit and try to improve ourselves. And there are some occasions wherein we might have to be at receiving end of criticisms/chastisements for some mistakes which we have not done. Such situations happen to every one of us at some point of time in our life.
We have seen in this world that people are trying to accumulate more and more money, followers and get more powers and try to achieve more fame. We find media and news-reporters flashing the list of richest people in the world every now and then. But nobody takes notice of a pauper.
Of all His glories, the most important is His causeless mercy upon the conditioned souls in reclaiming them from the clutches of maya". In one of his granthraj offerings, our Godbrother HG Narahari prabhu had written that, "This definition of 'Bhagavan' in Bhagavatam is unique and unparalleled because it first points out 'krpayaa' (causeless mercy), which is the most important quality of the Lord.
Whoever acquires the brahminical qualifications—whose only wealth is good behavior, who is grateful and who takes shelter of experienced persons—gets all the opulence of the world. I therefore wish that the Supreme Personality of Godhead and His associates be pleased with the brahmana class, with the cows and with me.
